I"ll be driving down Friday afternoon arriving around 4pm.

If I might make a Travel Guru suggestion....there is a Wetherspoons (The West Quay) within staggering distance of the Rendezvous that might make a decent starting point.

Otherwise I"m up for all of the above.

I would have thought Friday drinking was going to be done in town rather than at the Marina wouldn"t it?

Or are people planning on going to the Casino on Friday as well?

Even though stu has bottled out this thread is still worthy of continuing. So any suggestions for meeting place on friday?

I expect to be having a pint or two in The West Quay (Wetherspoons) as mentioned above. Handy for the casino should I feel in the mood.

It"s the best (/only real) choice if people are heading to the casino.

But as most people are staying in town rather than out at the marina I"d have thought something closer would be more likely

Brighton Pubs gives a reasonable idea that there are lots to choose from.

I think something like The Pump House

would be a good place to start - not too hard to find and also near all the other food and drink options that people might want to move on to later.

That is unless people are intending to go to the casino - in which case does anybody know what"s on there on Friday?

Seems OK

There"s a Wetherspoons close by too... The Bright Helm.

20-22a West Street
Brighton
East Sussex
BN1 2RE

Just up the road from the Travelodge.

yeah, my point obviously being that there are dozens of pubs clustered around quite close to everyone"s hotels in the town centre - so not much point going a taxi ride away if people are just going for the food and drink.

Cool.

Shall we make the Bright Helm (as it"s on the main drag) the starting / gathering point then any crawl?

Avoid Kemptown if your straight

Avoid West Street if your over 21 and don"t like fighting

Avoid clubs under the Arches (on the beach) if you don"t take drugs

Avoid buddies if your hungry after drinking as the pain the next day might mean you can"t make it to play the tourney

Lanes pubs generally nicer places to have a drink tho Pircher and Piano and Madam Gesha"s are again young and clubby type bars
