You"re an evil man.

How are we supposed to choose someone for the Hall of Fame?! All 4 deserve to go in, IMO!

Was nt going to post this on the forum but how can someone be nominated for winning 1 tournament in APAT and not even scored another point in apat but gets nominated as APAT player of the year .
Nothing against the lad dont even know him but surely this is wrong !

I was kinda thinking along the same lines Steve, would"ve liked this to go to a more regular APAT"er. Suspect the votes may go elsewhere anyway but definitely agree with your point mate.

Any APAT member was entitled to be nominated and the member in question had a great year, winning our largest tournament in addition to other large extermal events - so as far as I"m concerned; and we"ve already had this discussion Steve, the nomination is valid.   Nomination is one thing.  I do think it will be quite difficult to "win" this particular category without being well known on the APAT tour.  We"ll know next week.  Either way, I don"t think there is any gain to be had in bringing this up?!

Have to say that Dave is a great nomination.

Doesn"t mean you can"t vote for me though ;) ;D

I know we have Des and i know its stands i was wondering other peoples opinion. And yer he has had a great year but the nominations was for apat player of the year not 1 apat event and other stuff.
More wondering peoples thinking for nominations obviously their choice or if they just mis read the category.
And also thought nominations were nominations and not just votes , that is what happening now.
Anyway just wondered what others thought I DO NOT want anything changed and dont want to take anything away from awards just asking for other opinions.

And if things dont get brought up Des how can they improve.

Des I think we"re referring more around the community side of APAT here, and I know you understand that so it"s just a case of gauging opinions. Again I can only agree that Dave completely deserved his WCOAP victory and has had a fantastic year.....and yes he"s an APAT member, but is he a member of the APAT community? I can"t answer that as I don"t know Dave, his username or whether or not he"s played at other APAT events before or after DTD. So for my part I can only state that this is in no way some kind of witch hunt, alternatively I have huge admiration for his summer results and from hearing the praise about his play. In the same sense, could we then argue that someone like Roberto Romanello be nominated, having won EPT Czech Republic and WPT Slovenia? Or A.N. Other be nominated for the amount they"ve won at cash tables this year?

Our forum is one of the reasons that APAT is particularly special to be a part of, so I think it"s also the best place to raise this kind of issue. Regardless of who agrees/disagrees with the point, it"s definitely a valid point worthy of discussion.

I don"t disagree with any of that Grant.  The member in question won our biggest event of the season, so the comparison with Roberto is probably not comparable.  I agree the forum is open for all discussions, I just think we need to be careful over the timing of this discussion.  People are voting on the awards this week...this may or may not influence how they vote.
