HELP! A lift anyone???
« on: January 10, 2008, 10:10:19 AM »
As a few people know I am struggling to get back from Norway, but am desperate to do so to defend the title.

Flights are mind bogglingly expensive up here, as it costs a lot to get the biscuit tin with lawnmower engine off the ground in such cold temperatures. However they are plummeting at 50 quid ever few hours.

I have my eye on the return flights, but a one wayer (taking 30 odd hours) will get me into London for about 1025 on tournament day.

I don"t trust British Rail.

With that in mind is there anybody heading out of London to Cardiff at that sort of time that would be able to give me a lift down please? I will happily pay a share of the fuel.

Its warm here today, I"m in my shorts and t- shirt. Its only -3.

I now have confirmation of RAF and charter aircraft I can get BACK to Norway on.

I have options of either:

Depart Brize Norton 14th 1100 (I would need to be Oxford area about 0900 hrs, 14th)

or depart Exeter early afternoon the 14th.

Is there anybody returning to these areas early the 14th????

I live approximately 300 yards from RAF Brize Norton.  I"m returning on Sunday evening though I hope...or Sunday morning depending on how things go.  If this is any help give me a shout.

The lift would be greatly appreciated! I"m in the same position...hope to go deep and go back later rather than earlier!

Flights 27 hours as I have 9 hours on ground in tromso and another 12 in oslo...

If all else fails contact me I live in Reading (about 35mins West of Heathrow).  If I can talk hubby into bringing his car instead of mine (your too tall for the back seat  ;D) we might be able to help.

If Lee can"t make it, the tournament will be devalued.

Hell of an effort mate.  Makes your expedition to play in the Scottish one last season a stroll to the park.

I"m just glad you"ve been given the chance to defend your title Lee. For a time it looked as though you were going to be denied the opportunity.

Good luck with your defence, mate.
