Mmmmmm. Some of the old "Luton" players played for Luton cos there was no team in their area. Now there is one, which will have a below-average player volume to choose from anyway, and which apparently is to be disadvantaged further by a lot of their experienced players playing for a different region which has a better chance of winning, on the pretext that they can"t bear to be parted from their old team-mates. If the "Luton" players are all allowed to stay together, I wouldn"t put any money on East of England challenging in the league.
on the pretext that they can"t bear to be parted from their old team-mates.John, you, and many others, seriously under-estimate what we all felt about playing for Luton. It wasn"t the town of Luton, or the G Casino that we felt part of, it was the "Team". Many of us played simply because we really enjoyed that aspect of it and it is resonable for us to want to continue that where possible. We had a quirky, even eclectic mix of people, which for some reason gelled.
I for one, don"t appreciate the
"on the pretext that they can"t bear to be parted from their old team-mates." line. Perhaps you should try and come up with something positive to say for once, rather than the continual stream of negative jibes you seem enjoy posting!
