Missed you last night... Mr Ger is here next week so don"t be missing  :-*

Aces.... played the "blinds game" with Stu last night at the home game, checked all the way as you do down to the river. I flip an Ace (crowd goes oooooooh), Stu flips a Queen (which matches one on the flop... more ooooohhhs), then flips a 5 to match another on the turn... then I flip my second Ace to much merriment as stu pulls in the blinds... stupid game  ;D
Winner of 1 gold, 2 silver & 1 bronze medals.

Decided to skip the G last night and have a quiet evening in. Played a feeder for the DTD 500 and won one of two seats into the 10sts Guaranteed Satellite.

Whilst playing that I made a very happy discovery. I now know how to play both AA and JJ..

sadly, my HEM appears to have missed the hand so I"ll have to recreate it for you...

Around 16 left, 10 seats g"td and I shove KQo with something under 10BB
Two calls
Board runs out xxKxQ
and that, my friends, is how to play AA and JJ - let someone else have them :-)

I now have a second bullet for the upcoming WSOP Stylee weekend at DTD.

Freezeout with £150,000 guaranteed or £500rb for one of 10 WSOP Main Event packages?

On a non-poker note

Why were England wearing this on Saturday?

Playing against a team wearing red shirts, surely there was no need to wear anything other than the traditional white shirt, blue shorts?

Aside from any other issue, such as tradition, the blue kit looks awful.

FML#1

25 yrs ago the school at which my wife works was formally opened by Estelle Morris the then Secretary of State for Education. In celebration they are having a few events, including, tomorrow night, a Caelidh.

Which I am to attend, thus removing my opportunity to play with The Duke and JB

eightsome reel anyone?

FML#2

G last night - ran 44 into JJ and 55 into 10 10 in the early stages of the final table

FML#3

G cash last night - epic misread of female player
on a KK10 flop I bet 3/4 pot and get what looked like a reluctant call
on a 9 river I repeat the dose for £24 and have to fold to the shove
I call small preflop raise with KQ, call K high flop, bet the turn when OR checks and flip my hand on the river to be shown AK (I guess  I got off light really there)
Then I raise a 743 flop with 88 and get two callers
Check the K turn
and call the bet on the 3 river for what was left of my chips to be shown A3...

FML

Still, it"s not all bad. My flight to St Kitts is booked and paid for and I had an awful run in the week leading up to the GP too...

I actually like the blue kit, but not as an England kit.  Agree they should have been in their normal white for this game, and that red should always be their change colour. Jeez 1966 people - red is the colour!

The plaque in reception certainly says Estelle Morris and that stuck because wife worked with her briefly in her pre- politico days. I think my error is that the celebrations are for 15 yrs, not 25. FML#5 I"m missing the Ger/JB game for a fifteen year celebration! ****ing crystal!
Daren"t ask wife "cos I"m supposed to know these things....
