May seem an unlikely question to be answered to any degree of help as too many caveats, however ...

what would people who have been think the total cost would be for such a trip.

Base it on average hotel and sensible drinks!! ( ok how many rounds to be bought!)

Flights are in the £100-150 region (probably a max) depending on where you are coming from. Try SkyScanner but don"t forget the "extras" that might not be listed.

Hotel: can be had for £60 - 70 a night (standard)...cheaper options exist and I can investigate if you want. Obviously, quality increases by cost.

It"s not outside the realm of possibility to fly in on Saturday morning and return Sunday night (again, location dependant) but that assumes you don"t FT (or it finishes really early).

Essentially, for Londoner/Southerner/Welshian...it"s probably about the same as travelling to Scotland.

Ty Paulie for the info. Some consideration due and some negoications with the missus in order.

Trip to USA and a house move both around that time so could be tricky!

This is very very tempting :-)

JFDI

I have booked the Metropole Fri-Mon

Just trying to figure out the best way to get there, they cancelled the Swansea to Cork Ferry FFS

It seems I have to drive to Birmingham then fly to Cork, thats doable.

Steve, the best option for you would be. Bristol to Dublin With Ryanair. Cost return £41.98. Gets into Dublin on Friday @ 08.55. Hop onto Aircoach at 09.30 in Dublin airport and direct to the casino front door in Cork. Return Aircoach cost 28 euro. The Aircoach is every hour and will get you there in 3 1/2 hours at 13.00 direct express.See Aircoach.ie for more info.Hope this helps.

Cheers Frank, prefer to just fly into Cork to be honest though. I just need to confirm the time off work and will book early next week.

Bristol - Cork £178
Heathrow - Cork £111
Cardiff - Cork £471
Birmhm - Cork £921
Liverpl - Cork £48 :) LOL

An APAT weekend - Priceless*

Birmingham to Cork is £86 though leaving on Friday 6th at 1pm and returning Monday 9th at 11am. For some reason Bristol is really expensive

FYI Rodders, just in case you don"t go with the Duke"s frankly award winning plan (and why wouldn"t you?) I am on the 1pm Birmingham flight, although I am getting the later return flight on the Monday.

BIGGG Sigh

Not going to make this one. Needing to be in work early on the Monday morning, can"t avoid it. Damn. Sometimes real life has to take priority over poker blah blah blah etc etc.........

Guess I will see everybody at DTD in August.

Thanks to Ger for the first class offer though.
