Blinds???

 ???
Hi, can anyone tell me the answer to this question. Last night I was playing in a SST with six people still at the table. One player had just gone out. Is there any conceivable way that one player (the same one) can pay three blinds consecutively, i.e. big/big/small. I said no it was wrong, but the tourney director insisted that it was in order. I was a bit miffed as the blinds were 400/400/ and by the time the small blind was due it had doubled to 400, 1200 chips in 3 hands.

I can see no way that a single player, on a single table, can be in the blinds 3 hands running.

If the player due to be in the big blind next hand is eliminated, then the next player to the left of that position becomes the big blind, and no small blind is posted.

The scenario you"ve described sounds like you played a hand in the big blind, then a hand in the small blind, at which point the player in the big blind was eliminated.  You were then asked to post the small blind again, and the player to the left of the eliminated player the big blind.

Your 1st comment was what I thought, but blinds I had to Pay were in the order BIG/BIG/SMALL, very funny, but at the table I don"t like to have a stand up row!!!!!!!

sounds like an under pressure TD here, acting without all the info and getting wires crossed. I"m sure the TD knows the rules, he just ballsed up here.

Have to say it was good of the rest of the table to pipe up in your favour ;)

This is so easy to avoid if people just think about it as moving the big blind round the table to the next occupied seat, every hand without fail, with small blind and button dragged behind. If small blind happens to fall on an empty seat, no small blind. Simple.

TD and dealer want shooting.
