Rankings Update
« on: January 22, 2008, 09:51:27 AM »
May I ask when the next rankings update is due?

This is a totally selfish question as I have won two online tournaments since the last update.

It's only a Game

I could list my APAT achievements here, but I am too modest, and there isn't enough space

Well done to you, I would be chasing as well if I had won two on the bounce! Well we can dream!

Was wondering this myself. I have purposely won zero ranking points so far to give everyone else a chance. I now intend to start playing properly and would like to know how hard I need to try.

Thanks Jon keep up the good work.

I"d like to update the rankings every week
(when there"s been any tournaments at least)

But we just don"t get the data sent to us that frequently.

Tell Blue Square to get their finger out of their proverbial then. Just tell them that it is having an adverse PR effect on their sponsorship of APAT and they"ll get it sorted quick smart, I assure you.

I was fairly high up after the last update, but tbh slow updates are even causing my attention to wain, so god knows what it"s like for those that aren"t as high up. If Blue Square want to sponsor something that is holding people"s attention then they will need to get it sorted. Funny how they manage to update thier own daily league every 2 days or so.  ::)

Im trying to think why its got anything to do with blue square. I can understand the  problem with the regionals, but online tourney"s, a screen shot by any person would show the top 10, and therefore should not really delay anything.. (im not having a go at anyone by the way)... just in my simple brain this may be a solution.

A screen shot would provide Jon with the BlueSquare user name and finishing position, but it wouldn"t provide him with the other information vital to the APAT membership database, namely the contact details.

Ok, so Jon could update the rankings from the screen shots, but he"d then have to revisit the database once the official data came through from BlueSquare - not particularly efficient, especially when Jon does this in his own time.

I think patience is the order of the day  8)

Sorry but I disagree, no point in having a league if its not updated.

I think a rocket up blue square"s @rse is the order of the day.  ::)

Sorry guys, we have many tasks to do in the limited time available, and we prioritise as best we can.  Blue Square are not the worst offenders for getting data to us by any means, and we have just received an up to date data file from them today.

We will update the database with these results and the Welsh Championship results this evening and ping the appropriate information off to Jon this evening for him to do his update.

For info, Blue Square have been an extremely cooperative sponsor for APAT this season and I think it is unfair to start flaming them over something like this, when it is not their fault.  So lets stick to the facts of what we know and remember that the cost model behind APAT requires a patient membership.  It will not always be like this, but at the moment it is.

So if it isn"t Blue Square, as implied above, then who is it? Who else needs to send you the data? I-Poker?

If it is then surely a quiet word with Blue Square and they will put a fire under i-poker"s bushell, if it appears that it is affecting the image of blue square?
