Open & Shutt
« on: June 24, 2007, 14:09:56 PM »
The Sky Poker Live "Open" at The Broadway, Birmingham, on Saturday, was won by none other than APAT stalwart Kevin Shutt.

Despite starting the Final with a huge chip defecit to the Chip Daddy, he rode his luck, then imposed his impressive game on a tough Final Table, bullying & stealing & generally getting busy when it mattered.

Big up to Kevin, who was among many APAT-ers in the Event, all of whom brought great credit to us in APAT, by their fine game, table demeanour, & good manners.

Bainn also ran well, eventually finishing 16th of 104.

After Jon Woodfield"s eye-opening & stunning result in Vegas, APAT's name is being increasingly seen as representing everything that is good about our game.

Very, very, well done Kevin, I was immensely proud of you.

The Event was covered by Poker Week, so you will be able to see Kevin interviewed when it airs, towards the end of this week. Sky Poker also did filmed interviews with scores of players, & you will see these on Sky Poker over the coming weeks & months.

Many congratulations Kevin, your result does not surprise me in the least.  Enjoy your well deserved moment of fame and I look forward to featuring your Sky interview on APAT.com shortly.   Also, well done to Bainn on another good run, and to all APAT members for representing us well in Birmingham.

Regards,

Des.

Well done Zukertort! x 2

A great result, but after seeing Kevin play a bit, not an altogether surprising one.

Thanks to everyone at APAT for your friendship, support and sincere congratulations! When the pressure was on yesterday i had to dig deep & i believe my past "APAT EXPERIENCES" helped me immensely. It was a memorable day and i along with my APAT friends hope to repeat it!

Once again-thankyou.

Firstly, well done Zukertort, and at least I got knocked out by the winner !

It was a ruddy good event, lots of fun, good to meet up with people and especially nice to make some cash by being the highest placed Blonde.

I have to admit to playing well all throught the main comp, a mis-timed move crippled me near the cash, managed to double-up but was still in lousy shape and the end was inevitable.

Harmony and MickyP were SNG champs of the day.

Excellent work by all those involved and I hope to get an invite to the next one.

Congrats Zukertort, well played.

Twas a great event and it is really good to have the opportunity to meet up with "old" friends and meet new folk.

Well done on getting in as a Reserve, Bainn - so glad you could attend and then could play. Well played and congrats on winning the last longer Blonde wager!

Yes, was good to win the SNG and well done to MickeyP on that score also.

The Sky Poker crew and the Broadway staff really looked after us - thanks everyone!

We had a great time and i was given the most beautiful bouquet of scented flowers to cheer up a tough week - many thanks.
