Thanks for all the comments guys, another amazing virtual rail.

Steve, it was exactly as you called it.   That was the critical hand to my downfall they both put pressure on my smaller stack.  Maybe I should have come out fighting sooner.   ???

To be fair, I thought Shaniac stepped up a gear about 30mins from the end and the CL really gave him a lot of chips when you were three handed.  You stayed out of it wisely I thought, but were unlucky that Shaniac seemed to win all the key hands vs the CL.  All it took after that was a couple of your hands to go south and you"re left hung and dried.  I don"t think there was an awful lot you could have done about the situation...it"s the nature of that game.  Good experience though, on top of your blogger series run, and I hope you can sat into another couple of these high events.  Your game is obviously good.

Best line of scoop2012 so far: was from Poker Stars "Donald", hosting FT, after the final table ends...

Superb, sounds like that could be one of your final table lines.  Gotta love a dry sense of humour, not always appreciated, but good all the same.

That hand where he chased all the way and caught the flush on the river, whilst avoiding all the low clubs, was a bit sick. I presumed you had low covered - his calling to chase the bare flush draw, without any low cover, was pretty bad imo.#

Think he had a straight draw as well. Still horrible when you make them pay and they get there though.

Just checked. He had  9c 8d Qd Ac. Board was  2c 8h 10c 9d.
BB 4k. He called a raise of 4k pre, bets of 10,750 on the Flop [pot 16,000] and 27,750 on the Turn [pot 37,500]. Starting stack 282k v Leigh's 210k.
He had 2P [2nd & 3rd], a gutshot and nut flush draw. No low.
Is it good or bad? Think I"d have prob done the same.

ok only saw the flush draw (cos it got there) - didn"t notice the two pair.

Still hate his flat call there though - if he thinks his two pair is ahead, and given that he holds all the draws, he should be raising to fold out the lo draw hands..... and if he think"s his hand is not ahead at the moment, then he"s chasing draws where he may hit and only win half the pot.    Probably a case of calling in position, and hoping for the board to stay hi.

The perils of playing out of position :)

2P isn"t worth the paper it"s written on in PLO unless it"s top 2. Even if you fill, you are very likely to be losing. In Hi-Lo, it might be winning the Hi, but reraising is surely a bluff. Leigh had bet Pre, Flop & Turn. What if Leigh 3-bets big? His straight draw isn"t nut either - the flush is his only nut draw (which is your point, I guess). I don"t think I would raise, but I don"t think I could fold either for 10% of my stack. He does have some draws to scoop (as we saw).

I"d be interested in what Leigh thinks.

Likewise, got a bye through to the second round. Unfortunately I met someone who couldn"t miss. One cooler went my way, a good 5 or 6 for him I reckon :(
