First person to name both APATers wins

One finalled a WCOAP main, the other is back in APAT after several years

Prize is a drink from Des at the card-room bar.

Tough competition, for an unusual prize

Who has travelled the furthest to be here today?

I reckon Gianluca Ragusi, all the way from Italy

Good stuff from James Barber, against Graham Wills

Has Kings against Aces on a Jack high board.

Smells a rat and in check-call mode gets to showdown only losing 4,000 of his 15,000 starting stack

Worrying news

I ordered a Ham and Cheese Sandwich, which came with a side order of carrot sticks

Carrot sticks with my sandwich?

First prize will be £2,750

This will leave a modest profit, after allowing for the cost of entering the country over the Severn Bridge, should an Englishman win it

My money would be on a Welsh winner though. Probably APAT's most successful nation, team championship winners, riding high in the National Online League hunting Scotland down...Darren Shallis, Rudders senior and Junior, Roderick, MacGuinness, Steve Harrison, Allyson James, Warren Jones, David Llewellyn, all very capable of winning this

Dan Owston is here too.

Evan Humphries raises

Richard Rudders flats with Q-Q

flop Q-10-3 flop, two clubs

Rudders check raises a c-bet and is called

turn 9

Rudders leads, Humphries raises, Rudders all in

Humphries dwell calls with K-K, overpair and a gutshot

river 10 to double the old fella up and felt Humphries

Rudders junior has just been involved in a big pot, with most of his stack finding the middle

I caught the action on a flop of

9c Qc 9d

First to act checks

Rudders raises to 750, at blinds 75-150

Dai Llewellyn folds

First to act re-raises to 1500

Rudders junior re-raises to 2475

Call

The turn is the tasty  Kc

Check

Check

The river brings the draw filling  Jh

First to act checks

Rudders pushes 1700 in, keeping around 5k back

First to act re-pops all in, for all of Rudders chips.

The young Welshman folds, showing the  9h, his opponent flashes  9s Js for the house.
