How do you find playing for 13 hours? Don"t think I could do that, did 8 hours myself yesterday and that was enough. Could not have started more at the end of it. Any advice you would give on how to maintain focus on long sessions?
I must admit, I just don"t really struggle with long sessions at all. I actually felt pretty fresh at the end of it. Although the schedule is long time wise, it is not that intense. It was even less intense yesterday as we didn"t get deep in anything. I was 6 tabling temporarily but the majority is spent 4 tabling which is a sweet spot for me. Also the first 4-5 hours are fairly slow with mainly 2-3 tables.
I follow a similar routine whenever I play to keep focussed. I don"t have any distractions, girlfriend is working, food is prepared etc. I don"t really watch the TV or do anything else at the same time. I spent the majority of yesterday sat outside with music in the background shouting obscenities at the ducks! I just try and create an environment that makes it easy to play. Also I try and make use of the breaks, go for a wander, stretch the legs etc. Then there is the simple stuff like eating and drinking regularly. I never really struggle to focus - I find poker so engrossing.
Yesterday was frustrating but, fundamentally, I thought I played well. I didn't really get a chance to expand very much as couldn't get a stack or get deep enough to really open up but that's just the variance of this sort of schedule. I am going to adjust the schedule again, it has a few to many Turbo's for my liking. I may reduce it slightly as well as I want to keep 50% of myself ideally. Will continue to tweak it up and down as my bankroll fluctuates. I will be playing again next Sunday and will put the schedule up again mid week. Happy to reserve percentages again.
Thanks for the support. Shipping back $$$ after work tonight.
