I admire your optimism Dan, even though it is a little misplaced.

Not so misplaced!! I think you"ll find that Liverpool are second only to AC Milan in terms of European pedigree during recent times.

Personally I think tonight"s game will be dead tight (wasn"t kidding when I predicted a 0-0 thrashing!), but that we will do the business in the away leg (just like against Roma a few years ago).

Of course, I would be more than happy to be proven wrong and for us to lose the away leg 1-0..... but take the tie 5-1 on aggregate!!  ;D

I admire your optimism Dan, even though it is a little misplaced. You may get thru this tie, but win it? Your in the same cuckoo land that rafa occupies! Glad to here that your sights are firmly set on 5th in the PL though, and that the Toffees will occupy that 4th CL spot.

The same thing was said in 2005 and 2007.  We weren"t good enough, we"d been knocked out of the FA Cup early, etc.

I actually think we"ll finish above Everton, but I just think it"d be very amusing if we finished in 5th behind them and won the Champions League.  Give the bluenoses something else to be bitter about...

Please no more bitterness, they are already the most bitter people in the world.. I know i work with a few of them.. I wish I was so focused on other teams like everyone seems to be focused on Liverpool... Closet fans...  ???

wish I could be there, but Clickfests to APAT nationals are easier to be successful at than getting tickets for Liverpool at this stage of Champs League. Sadly not been to a single game this season - my kids are driving me up the wall to take them to a game.

Still, the beer is chilling nicely, the chilli is on the stove, the TV is on and ready (and the laptop is on and waiting for some tourney on the side).

Here we go for a spectacular 0-0

LOL

All this misplaced optimism. Men against boys

Inter are a gazillion points clear in Serie A

They"re gonna teach your shoddy defence a lesson

then again..... you"ve won a few Euro Cups  :o

I missed the lesson you were talking about..... Was it with their zero shots on target? or perhaps with their limited 30% possession?

A completely one sided game, even before the sending off.

So we can"t beat Barnsley, but we can roll over a team that tops Serie A and hasn"t lost for over five months!!  Oh well...

Just got back.. What a great night, nights like that in Anfield remind why you should not bother reading the red tops and listening/watching Sky Sports we want to make news.. The fans were great as normal, behind raffa and the team..
What a great result, still some work to do, but I would hope we can stop Inter scoring 3..

Won"t have to.  We"ll score at their place, and I can"t see them scoring 4...
