Phil "Tompkyfish" Tompkinson

So!!! What to say about the Tompkyfish. Well, we had best start from the begining.

I first came to know of Phil on the local pub scene, as mentioned it was probably the Fairfield, i was always to drunk to remember! Anyway, Phil was widely acknowledged to be the best player in the North East at this moment in time and was generally very well respected. As time moved on, (primarily) Phil me and Matty Ward became good mates and started touring the local pubs and rileys clubs playing poker whereever we could find it. I had genuinely never seen someone with as much of a love for the game as Phil.

Eventually we were to settle into playing poker every week on a Thursday at The Eagle, where we played the local R\ed tooth or pokerin/down/around/ontop of the pub league, resulting in playing regional finals as we usually crushed the league between us. One fateful day in Newcastle Phil confirmed his status as the best by winning the regional finals, with myself coming second somehow (its a bit of a blur, we were all hammered!)

Anyway. A bit more about the man himself. As everyone in APAT knows, Phil is probably the nicest man in the world. Always ready to offer a hug at any given second (i think Ger was getting worried by the amount of them we were having at Chezger) and always witha  smile on his face or that VERY loud laugh bellowing out ( not as loud as his snoring though)

Phil is the absolute reason that any of us know about APAT, after attending one and coming back and harping on about it for months on end, which we will all be eternally grateful for, as it has led to meeting all you lot, and occasions like Vegas, where Phil"s love of all things midget finally came to public light, or Estonia, or Spain. There has been too many to mention.

nowadays Phil is reaping the success that he deserves out of his business, as despite his penchant for tomfoolery and beer, he has worked damned hard to make his company what it is today, so well done and good luck on that one.

So there you have it. In conclusion, Phil "Tompkyfish" Tompkinson. Leader and CEO of the Stockton Massive. All round legend and possibly the nicest guy ever with a habit of picking loony"s as girlfriends.

Still a **** though.

Just about recovered from the weekend.. really am getting too old for all this malarkey.

Thursday I had planned on picking up Ger & Curly from Darlington at 1:30, then Paulie at 2 from Eaglescliffe, dropping them off at the pub and doing a few hours work.. this however did not come to pass. Quelle surprise. Dropping off at the Eagle pub, then involved staying at the pub.. all afternoon.

Michelle (holdyfoldy) turned up around 3ish I think. Things then get a little blurry. Remember playing pool.. darts.. drinking beer.. pool.. beer etc and then finding myself at the casino with some chips with the rest of the massive and the biggest home game ever. The blurry volume was turned up to max and I remember having quite a lot of chips.. and then final table.. and then apparently I was out. Couldn"t tell you if it was a bad beat or not. But as this is a bad beat free zone lets say I had 3 high against quads or something.. anyway more beer...blackjack.. and then the beer bus arrrived at somepoint and back to mine with the gang and sleep at around 6ish  :-\

Friday involved trying to do some work.. this did not go well.. and then trying to look reasonable at 3 when my daughter turned up from school and not like some dad with a Guinness / poker / beer breath problem who"d been up drinking all night and looked like he"d been recently dug up. Pressed repeat on the "reasonable".. well I brushed my teeth.. at 5 for a trip up to see Dirty Dancing at the theatre with Lilly and Anna. Red bull x lots for the win here  ;D

Saturday was Ger"s birthday.. Anna picked up at 11.. Michelle round at 12 and we decided to take Bonnie (my pooch) for a walk through the woods. Apparently "woods" and "wellies" are fairly alien to people from the south but off we went, up and down hills until Mich decided that the smallest twig in the world on the floor would trip her up, ending up pretty much head first in the mud with her chewing gum lying a few feet ahead  ;D SOOOOO wished I had taken a photo.

Back to the car with her knees covered in mud. And me giggling. Must have raised a few eyebrows with people wondering what we"d been upto.. back to TC towers and awaited the arrival of JB and to meet up with the rest at the "Bull" in Yarm.. part 2 to follow which involves trying to sell Michelle to Hugh Hefner and for some reason Lucy being called worse than a "****" oh... and Michelle being a tranny..  ;D

After some rearranging of Anna from Friday to Thursday night.. some juggling of lift arrangements for Gary Motson and Brian the fossil.. myself and Gary Palmer will be arriving on Friday for the Glasgow weekend instead of the planned Saturday.

Gary M and Brian coming up on the train Saturday and coming back with us on Sunday (evening obviously when one of us final tables)

Happy days. Can"t frigging wait x
