Don"t worry Phil seems to be in Middle Earth the attention he is giving his blog  ;D ;D ;D

He definately appears to have gone totally off the radar up here too :(

I"m curious; are you going down the Brangelina / Jaxie route?

Philly?

;D you know me too well x

In all seriousness though, JUST WOW on how expensive this is looking. My spreadsheet (yup I"m a geek) for this wedding malarkey is just laughing at me and the total is just scary  :-\ My fault really.. suggested Vegas but with Anna and then Lillys family this wasn"t practical, so I asked what she fancied... so a "castle" was dropped into the conversation one evening. I run well.

An email was sent off to Lumley Castle about 30 minutes north from me, and they responded with just under 10 grand.. for the venue and 60 guests  :"( REALLY? I responded with a counter offer.. "Well thats very nice mrs castle organiser lady.. but..haway" and we"ve agreed to disagree that she"s apparently shes not taking my eyes out and having a laugh. However we have a deal in place.. and a date of August the 17th. Happy days.

Multiple stag doos are being arranged (as Ger is staking these might as well make the most), with an APAT one 100% as soon as the new schedule is announced. Watch this space.

Was gutted to miss out this weekend for the team event, but I knew work loads would be impossible (2-3am finishes most of the week) so didnt apply for any teams, also Anna was off for her first ever trip away without me or the ex, she went off skiing with the school early hours Saturday morning and was no way I was missing her send off. Every single boy got the "don"t you fecking dare" stare as they boarded the bus. My maniacal dad stare is coming on a treat I reckon.

APAT ping pong looked amazing, fantastic Matt is organising these.. Not so sure about the "early" Sunday am start though after a guinness fuelled APAT Saturday, but will see whats planned for the next time. Looking forward to hearing about Dave and Brians first team event exploits when I see them at the next Stockton home game.

Roll on the worlds. Life is great. As Brian would say "Run Good, be lucky stay healthy". Happy days x

Phil"s relationship advice 101. Things that you should be aware of which indicate your girlfriend / fiancee / gay lover is moving in / stealth moving in :

Run Forest Run  ;D

Did make me giggle  ;D  PM on its way :-*

APAT have done a fantastic job with the WCOAP schedule and I was lucky enough to have a sneak peak before the official announcement. Loving the bracelet idea, and looking forward to the events very much although I don"t think I"ll be able to "defend" my bronze in the 6 max this year as I"m only looking at the Sunday / Monday.. so won"t feck about and will have a bash at a win in the main event  ;D

My poker goals are now at a pure enjoyment level, having a laugh and enjoying the banter, if I win then its all a bonus. Back when I started played poker (many) years ago I remember taking it all VERY seriously, read every book I could, learned about different styles, techniques, betting patterns, position blah blah blah.. I dreamt of making a day 2 in an APAT, winning a (blatent brag alert) medal or 4, representing my country etc etc.. now that I"ve done that I no longer feel any such desire to take anything poker related seriously at all.

I LOVE the people at APAT, I love the banter, the laughs.. and the poker.. well its more a means to an end really, an "excuse" if one was needed to meet up with some of my favourite people, drink a little too much and just enjoy. Gone are the days of wanting to sit at a big buy in event, or any buy in really surrounded by people engrossed in their ipads, head phones, playing without any joy.. who need a nudge when its their turn, who have ZERO banter and take the game way too seriously. Its good to dream of that big score, the dream of maybe even one day turning "pro".. but these threads about mentally preparing for a game of poker, being in the right zone to make the right decisions... yes I can understand the reasoning.. but..  :-X I don"t see poker as a way of earning money, a way from the daily grind.. but I guess I"m lucky as I wouldnt change a thing about my life..  its all about the enjoyment, its my vice and I want to enjoy it with a smile on my face. And I"ll be enjoying it to the max come March.

Talking about just enjoying the game, we have a mini Yarm invasion this week. Banter and liver at the ready. Can"t wait x
