Any thoughts about what would replace WP?

I confess I"m not up on CMS (Content Management Systems) but is there anything that is more secure?

We use Drupal at work (don"t ask) but that"s really overpowered (I feel) for APAT.com and has a fairly sharp learning curve.

I believe that the plug-in community for WP is better (or at least more vigorous) than that for Drupal, hence my suggestion to Des about the Event Management solution,

Currently having that exact same conversation with Leigh on Skype... or it might be his personal assistant he"s recently employed since the weekend.. look at me name dropping ;D

Heard good things about "Plone", and theres another called "Typo" which apparently is similar to WP in style. I"m the same really as its not really my industry sector.. always up for suggestions if you or anyone has any. At the moment a blackboard and chalk seems the way to go as the last remaining hairs on my head I"m trying to cling onto are getting seriously pulled :(

Bonnie is also learning some choice new swear words x

So its getting close to official stag doooooo oclock.

The 2 will be

1) July 6th for an all day session in York for non poker playing friends and family.. yes I do have some :)

and the main event...

2) August 3/4 for a poker / beer weekend at a location to be named soooooon

More details will be posted soon once venue for August 3/4 one is confirmed but will be epic. More the merrier. Watch this space. Clear the diaries x

Well I thought that 3rd/4th was pretty much nailed on. Surely we should be doing different weekends but anyway........

Given that this is a "Full Fat" (Jack Prime lingo there see) [MOD SNIP] Weekend I am assuming we will be required to report for duty on the Friday (2nd August).

I therefore respectfully recommend that we do an early start on this day to give it a proper Stag weekend feel. We can play darts/pool/snooker in the afternoon if people want or just find a pub some pubs and sit in the sun outside.

Also will there be drinking games?

Funnily enough, none of these were on my suggested activities during a Skype convo with Phil yesterday about that weekend.   ;)

Although, an afternoon of pool and pints in a pub does have some appeal.  Let"s hope the location has pubs.   ;D
