Feedback on National Online Cup structure.
« on: August 08, 2012, 22:09:48 PM »
If you"ve any feedback about the structure of tonight"s National Online Cup games, please post here.

Did 2,500 starting stack and 12 min blinds provide enough play? Or would you like to see bigger starting stacks (perhaps 3000)? / longer blind levels (15 mins instead of 12)?

I liked it, but I guess I"m biased.

As to the structure - it depends what one expects from this sort of comp. Personally, I think it"s about playing a team game first and foremost, and for that we don"t need a massive deepstacked slow clock structure. For this format of competition, I think the structure is ok - it"s a shovefest for a period, but that just has to be adjusted to.....   I"m sure the Nationals will have a proper and more appropriate structure.   All that said, I would vote for 3k stacks over 2.5k, if only to delay the shovefest period a little longer.

Probably the wrong thread to post this in, but this must be one of the only networks that doesn"t offer an option for four colour deck, or an option to see immediate hand history.   Not massive issues, but frustrating nonetheless.

Personally I wouldn"t mind seeing more starting chips, as it did feel a little cramped just over an hour in, but if we were to do that I"d also vote for an earlier starting time, as we don"t want to run on too late with all games being played with work the next morning.
Gotta be in it to win it!

Thanks for the feedback. I"m inclined to agree with you re: structure, levels. Though a couple have suggested 5k start stacks (this could mean a 1am finish though, which is a little unsociable for those with work in the morning).

To answer your other points:

For 4 colour deck: Select "settings" from the main lobby.

For instant hand history: Select the "replay" icon at the top left of the screen. That will pop-up a Pokerstars-style Instant Replay screen, complete with option to see cards your opponent mucked at showdown.

We"re all done by 10:40 in group C, so a little more play would be good, but not too much of a tweak.

Personally enjoyed it.

If you can block "Erimus14" from playing in the future that would be great  ;)

Thanks Matt - did look for both, and found neither. Will look harder next time :)

yeah not a bad structure (but then again I am also biased with the result)

3k starting stack maybe?  Only another 500 on top of tonight so would add too much, but we dont want it going on till 1am

as we are only a max of 28 players in a group, i think we would not play endless even with more starting chips,

structure was okish, but personally my fav would be 3000 chips and perhaps 15 min blinds, i dont think it would take to long as we are not many

why not trying it, and when it takes to long we still could go back to 2500 chips

what i hated was to have two guys of my team at my starting table lol

Yeah, maybe a 3k stack and p"raps you could fit in a 150/300 level, but as AMRN says above this isn"t about a long, deep-stacked game.  I"d prefer start time to stay at 8pm too.

Overall, a fun little tourney, helped by the fact that the two Yorkshire teams absolutely crushed it in Group B.

stack sizes fine but 3k is ok as well, but this site is so bad for suckouts and has been in every game iv"e played on it. This should be sorted out first otherwise it"s a waste of everyones time and money.
