I"m going to stick my hands up and admit that I"m really torn about Thursday. I mean, I"d love to do the Homegame thing at the G but £50 for a Premier Inn room is a bit beyond me at the moment.

As I mentioned to some / many in Nottingham, I"m blowing out Glasgow due to financial constraints (it"ll be one of few APATs I"ve missed in 6 years...and that hurts more than you"ll know) and now Yarm is looking like it might break me.

Oh, I can do c.£30 a night for Friday & Saturday (hell even Sunday) but that extra £50...I don"t think so.

Travelling

Feck...I think the train makes the only sense...I could drive it (and I prefer driving) for about the same as the train ticket but the car would be essentially unused whilst I"m there.

According to Trainline, I think I can do there and back for about £40 each way (two singles).

So, what the hell am I telling you this tale of woe for...just asking...is there any possibility of moving the game to Friday night?

Yours affectionately,

Paulie D.

can"t you bag a room at Phil"s on Thursday?

Thursday night is the one night of the week when G has no tournament of it"s own.

Trigger has been pulled.

Thursday:  Tomplyfish Villa (TYVM)
Friday & Saturday : Premier Inn for £63 (gasp)

Booking trains.

Which is the best station, Eaglescliffe I reckon?

Good times  ;D

Trains.. there"s 2 in Eaglescliffe which are shockingly Eagescliffe or Allens West. Yarm also has a station. So whatevers easiest to get to all about the same to be honest.

Darlington main station is around 20 mins away Taxi ride if thats as close as you can get x

I shall ignore the blatant sarcasm  ;D

TRIGGER PULLED..........

I shall be driving as the train takes too fecking long and it"s 3 changes and barely less than petrol costs.

Just had a look on my Trainline app to see how much you might save by getting off at Darlington and getting a lift from one of us.

Imagine my surprise to see that if you get the 11.23 from Kings Cross and just end your journey at Darlington the fare is £111.20, but if you continue on another train and make the journey longer, the fare is £23.60

How much do they expect you to spend in the Buffet while you wait for the connection?

Frankly, £30 each way (although I have to get those EXACT trains) is a bargain for me.

Not that I didn"t consider the Open Return for £90+ or the 1st Class (again on exact trains) for £85 but I decided that if I"m going to claim financial hardship it would be somewhat (OK, massively) hypocritical to indulge myself that way.

I may be a hypocrite but I try not to be one in public. :)
