very short notice for a good deal?

Yes, as far as flights and accomodation is concerned, I have highlighted that not giving our customary 4 week notice period could lead to increased expeneses for members.  Unfortunately big business is sometimes slow to move, but this delay will be a one off.

Apologies for the continuing delay everyone, the plans that we are putting in place go beyond these two events and while they are delaying our ability to announce details of the European event right now, there will be benefits for all APAT members for a considerable period thereafter.  The announcement will be made after a major meeting next Thursday.

Well they say that patience is a virtue and I sincerely believe that in this case it will pay dividends. This sounds very promising, and, lets face it - when Des and the team say something they deliver.

I have a feeling the positives that come out of said meeting may be rather exciting. Possibly that good that everyone will instantly forget the current period of uncertainty!!!!!!

Looks like I should make the apat now...other people spammed to go puddle splashing around glos/worces :-)

For information and pre planning, it is our intention to play the European Amateur Poker Championship at the brand spanking new Grosvenor "G" Casino in Luton, over the bank holiday weekend, August 25th to 27th.

Please don"t book anything yet, as final details will be confirmed later this week.

However, members may find the above information useful to make preliminary plans at home or at work.

Will it be a 3-day tournament?
2 day ones?
Should I be booking for two nights Saturday/Sunday?

Although I prefer a direct buy in, I assume there will be at least some satellites.

Satellites on Saturday, direct buy in on Sunday?

If there is to be satellites it would have to be on Monday/Tuesday, direct buy-in on Thursday/Friday due to WCOAP

I didn"t think about that. It"s all very tricky - I"m glad I"m not the one who has to make these difficult decisions :)
