Congratulations to everyone who played, cashed or made the medals in Glasgow on the weekend.

We now move online, with the start of the Scottish Poker Online Series.  If you played on the weekend, you"ve already picked up at least a point towards the player of the series.

Click below for all the details of tonight"s first event and the schedule for the week.

Alan Horsburgh (whose name I have spelt incorrectly all day, and who is H-Man81 on the APAT forum)... finishes 1st for £2,285, a Genting Main Event seat, and an APAT Gold Medal!

Brilliant stuff, well played and to Peter and Precious too.

Signed up to your forum last night after dealing/TD"n the event over the weekend.

Was a pleasure to be involved over the weekend, good bunch of folk involved who played the game in good spirits. Some good laughs at the tables over the weekend. Great atmosphere overall.

Congrats to the medalists and cashers. Well done to Alan for winning the event, solid through-out and a worthy winner.

Jack

p.s. apologies for the lighting issues

Helen Godfrey raises to 35k from the button. Alan Horsbrough asks for a count. Helen has 143k behind.

Alan shoves all in...

Helen calls.

Alan: 10h 10c
Helen: 6c 6h

Board: 7d Kh Qd 7s Ac

Helen Godfrey finishes in 6th place for £540

Alan now has a stack of over 900k!
.Thanks to everyone for the support!  Well done to Alan, you had winner written all over you and I was so pleased to see it fulfilled when we arrived back home last night.

Looking at my watch at 7pm and thinking of the 4hr drive we had to get back home to Leeds last night, I felt I had to get things moving a bit quicker and decided to make a stand against the over-shove to either make a timely exit or get chipped up to make a late night journey worthwhile!  More than happy with the result having started the day with less than 10BB and surviving getting it in bad on most of my showdowns!  Sorry, I think we left without saying bye to many people, but everyone had dispersed on the break and we just headed straight off.

Big thanks to Michelle and her staff at Alea who were brilliant without exception and did their utmost to overcome the twilight conditions indoors.

Will use a couple of my Scottish £20"s to play some of the online series this week, although my online results don"t live up to the standard of my live ones unfortunately!

Glad you made use of all the chips you got off me by beating my QQ with 44. The next time we meet I will get them back

Thanks especially to Grant who I wouldn"t have been playing yesterday without

p.p.s Grant, budget cuts meant there was no trophy this year so get that 1 replaced with a 2 & send the "2012" trophy my way ;-)

You"re more than welcome mate, and I"m sure if I"d switched the tickets and the seats were the other way round you"d still have won it  ;)

No joy with the trophy, that"s a real shame  :( No way you"re getting mine though, would mean I"ll need to go polish it first  :P

"My name is Grant Speirs and I am the EX Scottish Amateur Champion"  ;D

Enjoy every minute of it mate, thoroughly deserved win  8)

Alan Horsbrough limps utg. Steve Roderick calls from small blind, and Steve Tracey checks in big blind.

Jh 5d 10s

Steve R checks in the dark. Steve Tracey leads out for 45k and Alan calls. Steve R folds.

Both check the 7d turn.

The river is 8c.

Steve Tracey checks. Alan bets 90k.

After a 7 minute dwell, Steve Tracey folds (KK). Alan tells us he turned the straight.

He called the 90K bet Matt, not just my name you got wrong in these posts  ;) And I did turn the straight  :D As you can tell I"m re-reading the days events!

Hi Leigh,

Please can you reserve me a seat as well. I am in Ireland for the week before hand and don"t get back to Prestwick till half 1 on the Sat, so it is highly unlikely I"ll be there for the start.  If I arrange for someone to pay my entry on the day, will be ok and I can just blind out for first 30 mins/hour maximum?

Thanks

Alan Horsburgh

Alan, you are specifically not allowed to play in this event. Sorry and all that but you"re just too good.

C"mon Alan :)

Your original post was definitely some sort of reverse mystic bok Andy and for that I can only thank you greatly  ;D

Welcome to APAT "Uncle" Jack. Couldn"t of done it without you! Thanks for running/dealing and most importantly the banter, made what are always enjoyable tournaments even more enjoyable.  I"ll see you again in the Alea soon and at my mum"s for dinner next week  ;)

Massive congratulations to Alan. For me the best player won and it was a great game. I cam believe I didn"t super river you in the sitngo though. Let us know how the Genting goes when you play it.

It was a real pleasure to meet you and play that game.

Thanks Rodders, was a pleasure to meet you and that final table was one of, if not the most enjoyable/interesting live poker I"ve played (maybe wasn"t thinking that when that Jack hit mind you ;-)  Was just a great battle back and forth and throughly enjoyed it. Congrats again to you on another medal, tremendous record and doesn"t really need me to echo the sentiments of all that the Gold will arrive to complete the set at one point.  Good to get a few drinks after as well and already worried plain old "normal" Hold em is going to be so boring after Super Hold Em! Take care and good luck in Stoke

ooops lol. It was such a long dwell that I must have fallen asleep, and missed the call :D

Congrats again on the win, and thanks for the pintage after :)

For the Genting Seat, all you have to do is pick an event (next year if you can"t make this year) and give one of us (me, Des, Leigh) a shout, and we"ll stick you in it.

Thanks Matt, I would have loved to have played Sheffield if I was able to. I"ll wait till schedule is announced for next year and let you guys know.  Though since there was no trophy this year think it"s really only fair you buy me in to the Genting Main Event instead. Just think of the APAT exposure when I take that down as well  ;)

Thanks again for everything, was good to get a few pints after and hope your early morning rise was not too painful!

Played the alea glasgow at the back end of 2010 in a decent sized comp and everyone was complaining about the lighting back then. So I wouldn"t be holding my breath on that one!

Great to see some positive comments about the casino staff, sounds like the alea treated us very well.
