I"ll go for an austrian winner, Scooby Doo best brit.

As I"m the third to go for an aussie, I"ll go for a slovakian (but only if austria is taken!)

Note to APAT : I seem to be on this players list, but have informed you of my unfortunate non-attendence.

Sorry fella, you better pick someone else cos I aint entered.  ::)

But thanks for the vote.  8)

Scheiße !

Denken Sie, daß ich Auswahl Leigh, und ein deutscher Sieger.

....I don"t think we have any Norweigans either, which goes to show Ian"s tipping is on a par with his playing  ;D

Hmm, harsh but fair methinks  ;D

Ian,

Based on your tipping, I am now worried about using any of your German translations this weekend.  Who knows where I might end up.  ;D

Leigh

Probably as well to double check my German, the only language I"m fluent in begins with "Bull" and ends with....... I think you can guess the rest  ;D

Good luck in Austria Leigh, I"m sorry but you"re my new tip  ::)

Ian,

You"ll be please to know, I"ve arrived.  So stage one complete, but I think that may be my only success this trip.

Did see you"d made me your tip just before I flew, nearly asked for a refund on my ticket as it seemed a wasted journey now.

All is not lost Leigh, I did tip Lee Baron in Manchester and he made the final table. I think I also tipped Daniel to make day two in Cardiff, and he didn"t let me down.

Good luck anyway, and hopefully we"ll see you in Edinburgh.

Well hello everyone and welcome to Austria!

This is TightEnd, overcoming technological hardship and forgotten passwords to temporarily post on The Duke"s account.

Its been an interesting weekend already. Delayed from Heathrow we arrived in a deserted town 30km south of Vienna at 1am. Half an hour later we"re still trying to get a hotel room key via the automated system

Interesting scenario at the airport too. Met by a pre-booked taxi we say hello to the driver and he says "English, ja?"

Answering in the affirmative he then said"David Beckham"

So i have to respond

I managed "Hans Krankl, Thomas Hitzselsperger"

and was met by a grin and a nod

but try as I might I could not think of any more famous Austrian footballers

So thats you first challenge..non-Googling or else Uncle Tighty will put you in detention

famous Austrian footballers please!!!

The Poker Royale casino here is huge, maybe 80 tables

On an industrial estate its un pre-possessing from the outside, being a big black rectangular shed type construction

Inside though its like DTD"s less tasteful cousin...black and red colour scheme, like--I would imagine--a bordello in South America

Huge leather sofas, lots of fake pot plants, low lighting and plenty of eye candy

If I get distracted, you"ll have to excuse me
