Hi all,
Firstly I have to hold my hand up (and I"m sure you"ll have noticed anyway) I am not a big contributor to this forum. I became a member of APAT via Ian Szerlowski & Mike Scothern, who I"m sure are known to a number of you. I have eneterd a team/played in 3 of the APAT team events now and intend to enter a team into the next event (if accepted)!
Now to get to my original point......some months ago APAT ran a freeroll where first prize was a GPS series ME seat. There were approx 400 runners and I managed to get HU with another APAT member Mark Porter (AKA MPorter123). As we were more or less dead even at the start of HU, we agreed a 50/50 equity split on the seat as 2nd prize was a £55 satellite seat and neither of us wanted to risk such a big prize drop with the god of variance lurking around! As it turned out I happened to win a very hard fought HU battle and landed the seat for my efforts!!
I chose to use the seat for the Sheffield leg of the GPS this weekend just gone and I"m happy to say I went on to cash in 42nd place for £800 (not a bad ROI, lol)! I would have had a much deeper run had I not lost a 300k+ pot both more or less aipf with my KK vs AJ.....J on flop and another on the turn put paid to that....but there you go!
Anyway, Mark has been kind enough to make the gesture that the 50/50 deal we orignally agreed didn"t seem to reflect the effort I had had to put in to make that deep run and has taken a considerable amount less - so I gotta say a huge thank you to him too - obviously a top notch bloke and no mistake!!!
So finally, I would like to thank APAT for running the freeroll and giving me the opportunity to play in one of the best run tournaments currently on the circuit - seriously folks I would recommend the GPS to anyone and everyone, could not fault it all and the structure is second to none! Luckily I have already managed to land myself another seat, as I guessed nearest the final prizepool for the Sheffield leg in a predictor Genting were running and binked a seat for the next event.....just call me a luckbox!
Thanks again one an all and hopefully catch up with a few of you at the next team event.
