There"s a Marriott just across the main road from the Gala Maybury. It"s obviously not going to be your cheapest option (nor the most luxurious - I"m told it"s nothing like the photos) but it is only about a Driver > 9 Iron door to door.

Have now found and booked a b&b called Thistle Dhu (which is less than 0.5miles from casino)  for £30/night inc. breakfast.  Ok this was based on a single room, but should do me nicely.  anyone interested call 07749713144

I tried to secure a block booking for APAT a couple of months ago, but unfortunately there is a huge race meeting that weekend and most of the hotels nearby could not accommodate.

My suggestion would be to book as early as possible if you are planning on staying in Edinburgh that weekend.

The Marriott, as Neil has said, is directly opposite the Casino but that, I was told at the time by their Manager, had very few vacancies, but still worth a try to get in there.

Edinburgh Marriott - 01313349191
Corstorphine Lodge Hotel - 08454566399
Tudorbank Lodge - 01313347845
Best Western Capital Hotel - 01315359988
Holiday Inn, Corstorphine Rd, Edinburgh - 08704009026

The last 4 are approx 5 mins in a taxi (approx £5 taxi fare)

Please note that these are just some ideas for you, I have been unable to secure any block bookings, but some hotels for you all to try.

Of course it"s the John Smith"s sprint meeting at Musselburgh that weekend, I may not be at a loose end after all.  ;)

There"s also a new Novotel at Edinburgh Park, 15 minute walk or very cheap taxi from the casino.

After winning a seat in the satellite last night I have looked at hotels, the Marriot didn"t seem to have anything free for the 3rd and 4th although I did get in the Holiday Inn, although there was only a handful of rooms free for both nights.

Novotel is more 30 mins walk through Edinburgh Park as its right off the bypass. Its a cheap taxi from the casino to the novotel but from the hotel to the casino because of the way the bypass goes its a much longer journey so will be more expensive.

Glasgow Road, Corstorphine Road, St John"s Road are all local streets to the casino and have hotels and B&Bs.
