It took a while before I started cashing, only in the 9th tournament I noted a first cash (not counting a sat win early on).
I took some time to review hands and that helped me to discover a few things already... Often I just checked down a hand where I was in position and where I was pretty sure I had the best hand. But when it wasn"t a big hand (like only top or 2nd pair), I just checked back and won a smaller pot... Lately I"ve been betting those pots more often and actually get called pretty often.
a few things I"m working on:
- I shouldn"t be too aggressive at times... especially when I have a bigger stack I play more pots (which is pretty logic) but I want to win every pot and sometimes keep betting/calling with just a gut shot or overcards... that has to stop
- if I raise, get reraised and another player calls, I call too often with marginal hands
- I shouldn"t be afraid to raise in early position with a decent hand... especially closer to the bubble, I"m too scared to open a pot in early position with a hand like AJs. This gets better when on the FT for example where i play more aggressively as a lot of people play scared.
I downloaded a ton of videos from DC, so I have a lot of material to learn from
Thanks everyone for supporting me so far; if you see me play and you have remarks or want to check the hand histories, please feel free to let me know. Because:
If I win, you win So far there have been ups and downs, but I feel confident I"m heading in a good direction.
All in all it"s a pretty good start; but I"m sure that more good is around the corner!
