Did the network pick up on it or was it reported?

Scrub that question...no good will come from the answer.

I feel VERY strongly about this and would like the 2 disqualified players re entered into the game. I still dont know who they are or from what team but i am sure the opposing team would not want to win in these circumstances.

If network rules has laid down the law then we need to challenge them dont we?

It takes a lot to get me on my high horse but I am deffo there on this one.

Interestingly I find myself in exactly the same frame of mind. I"m not sure why I feel as strongly as I do to be honest but I definately do, particularly as it isn"t even my team involved in the disqualifications. I guess the sense of fair play has kicked in and this is just not cricket as far as I can see.

APAT clearly cannot re-enter the two players or challenge network rules that they agreed too (and we all agreed too by playing). They are bound by network rules and have to take action here as the rules were clearly broken, yes we have all done it and it is not fair. Sucks, but it"s the way it is, APAT need to protect their license and if they don"t take action there is nothing to stop the BOSS Network banning the players (although the normal process would be to suspend their accounts until they explain the purposes of the play in most cases).

Problem is precedence has now been set and this is no longer a hypothetical scenario. For me APAT have done the right thing in a really tough spot (horrible decision to have to make but the right one for all concerned, in the best interest of all, including the DQ"d players), but now they need to make it very clear that soft play in these things is NOT permitted and if it is picked up in any form players receive a warning and may be disqualified if repeated examples occur. It should not really happen the first time as mistakes do happen.

If this was a much bigger event with say a WSOP Main Event seat on the line (and who"s knows what will happen in the future) I think players would be a lot less happy to just accept this decision and as Curly said we could be on shaky ground as the rules have not been fairly applied to all and to be honest APAT are and have been aware of this, this needs to be corrected.

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

And here endeth the team game.  Understand that if soft play is NOT permitted, the "team" element of the team game no longer exists.

So, going forward are we to have invigilators watching each table to ensure there is no soft play?

Seems to me the only way to have team poker is for team mates to be playing in separate games ie 6 mtt"s running at the same time with one player from each team.

which is like the Live Team Event STT"s... I think that would be a very good idea if you want to exclude every form of soft play, chip dumping, ...

We have listened to the views of everyone on this thread and also those that have contacted us over the past few days.

We are aware that there may have been some confusion regarding what is allowed and what is not allowed within these team games, to the extent that players have interpreted the rules differentely.

To make it very clear, these tournament are run as per the network rules that every player signs up to when they open an account.  We have no control over these rules, and any breaking of these rules gets dealt with via the network compliance team.

Players that choose to break these rules in any game potentially face action from the network which could lead to funds being frozen and accounts closed.

We cannot knowingly encourage or allow players to break network policy rules and would hope that all teams involved would learn from this incident and adopt their play accordingly.  At the same time, we have decided that disqualifying the two players in question does not seem appropriate due to the clear confusion regarding the dynamics of the team game and we will be reinstating them for the remainder of the cup.

We would urge teams to ensure that their play stays within the network rules as if anything is picked up by the compliance team, we do not have any control over the actions that they will take.

This is a positive warning to everyone that plays these events, and I would hope that it will be taken as such, meaning everyone can get on with enjoying what has been a competitive and fun competition.

Not sure where anyone has said they are against team play (you can call it soft play all you want its just sensible team play in reality) yet it"s now been outlawed.  ::)

But two players have now been reinstated having been disqualified for doing the same as almost every other team in the competition.

There is still confusion over what is allowed and what is not allowed. Is soft play/team play now outlawed completely? At what stage does soft play become chip dumping? Would it have been ok for player A to fold to player B"s 30 chip bet rather than just open fold? We clearly need guidance rather than just a reminder that we agreed to some rules that none of us can remember.
