With WCOAP been and gone, we must look forward to the next hill we can climb.  I have a list of different events to make an attempt to play in 2013 and one of them is only 3 weeks away (so soon again i know!!).

Star City hosts the 888 Superstack in April and for 165 English Pounds you can sit alongside a room full of aquarium dwellers in an attempt to avoid the potholes and collect all the tokens......Soooooo Im in!!!

There is no gte but tbh im not too bothered as it normally boasts around 200 runners so the prizepool is juicy enough.

Also on my list for this year:

DTD 300
DTD Monte Carlo
UKIPT
SPT
GPS
GUKPT
and of course many more APATs..... :)

Tomorrow see"s Day 1 of the ITM 3 Teired Challenge between myself and co-presenter Tom Piccirilli.  Discipline 1 is GOLF.  Now i am terrible at Golf, luckily for me TP is worse (usually)

The stage is set; Thornbury Par 3
The clubs are out; Dusted and Polished
The Balls are ready; hundreds and hundreds of them

The other disciplines we are embarking on are:

Miniclip Pool - Wouldnt be fair on TP to play real pool, so have opted for an online version (yes, yes, yes....queue the Darren Shallis comments)

HU Poker - This is tiered itself with NHL, Omaha, Razz, Horse and Stud all being played (mixed games ftw)

Also tomorrow i am going to hit the G Casino Ricoh in the evening to play the £25+5 game, which boasts a 50k starting stack and 15 min blinds.  I am reliably informed that it gets 50-70 runners so we are in for a fun ride.....at least there will be cash games running too!!

Decided that i am going to be as anal when recording all live sessions (cash + mtt) and staking, as i am with online games.  I mean, it is sooooooo easy when we have tools like HEM/PT to do it for us bt i have d/l"d an app on my iPhone that tracks it all so must keep it to date with it all, would be lovely to bink the £25+5 and start in the Green!

Anywho, GL to all that are grinding, thinking of grinding or just too bone idle to play!!!

Soooooo played the Golf element vs TP today.

How i perceive myself:

What others see:

I finished on 99 (par 3 course) and in hindsight i think playing Golf as a competition after not playing for 12 months (and with only 7 completed courses in my short career) was a bit silly.  TP, however, has been practising and it showed as he finished on 76 (still terrible but a lot better than me)

This is actually the worst score i have ever had on the course, just chuffed i forgot my clubs for the DTD weekend, as i would have definatly lost money vs Dave.

UFC Prelims are starting now, and have tweeted G Casino Cov to check they can show the Main Card so i am set for the evening unless i become lazy and just stay in.

G Casino Saturday TR:

So Saturday evening i did manage to pull myself of my fat a**e to go and try out the G Casino Ricoh (Coventry) and their 8:30pm game.  I must say that this tourny is the BEST structure i have ever seen for a casino Saturday night game.....EVER.

50K Starting stack
15 min blinds
starting at 25/50

I got seated on a table full of Casino regs, and the standard of play was woeful.  Luckily, playing so deep, there were lots of hands played to take advantage.  I did get moaned at for raising too much, probably due to teh fact that they wanted to see every hand limped.....hmm ok

Immediately assuming the role of table captain was not met well, a gentleman with his own poker shirt with catchphrases embroidered on to them didnt like i had taken his role in the game.

To give you an idea, i played a hand in with UTG limp called my 5 x raise and check called every street on 8 K Q 3 A and shows A8o to best my KQhh lol!

Tbh i cruised to the FT (which they played 10 handed) with the CL and 7 paid.  2 swift exits and we are on the bubble and they all start to talk "savers" which i declined as i had 1/2 the chips in play (1.5m) and blinds 20k/40k.....

Sadly i couldnt win an all in with 77 < 44, AK < AJ and AK < QQ and i am left with 700k.  At this point we are down to 5 handed and all the shorties were doubling :(

With blinds now 50k/100k, the time at 345am (and an hr drive home) and ave stack 600k (6bbs) we are fighting for a £500 top prize and only £120 locked up i feel i have to accept an even chop of £270 each.  One flip kills me off, and although a huge edge over the field, at this stage it means nothing if you are:

a) Card dead
b) Lose a flip

Its very rare, almost never, that ill agree to a chop (and i had refused a few times) but on this instance i felt it was the +ev option.

I did notice at the FT that everyone was pretty nitty, and i had taken advantage of it and assumed it was the fact that none of my opponants had experince in this hyper turbo situation (luckily my years of grinding 2/180 turbos on stars helps!) but i then find out that G has a leaderboard in April and the winner gets FREE Entry into ALL of Mays games.....what a great prize.

Makes me wish i was local as it seems to be a money printer there!

Also found out that on Sat night they offer teh first 4 cash game players (not entered into the MTT) rake free cash all night.  Now that is a promo i may take advantage of when i can, as they cash game players were pretty poor.  A few decent Uni students from WaPS (where players such as Andrew HUlme, Rupert Elder etc found their feet) but lots of easy money to be had there.

The only downside to the evening was that, even after tweeting the card room to check, they didnt put the UFC fightson teh TV for me!!! Ohhhh and Toasties were £2.70 each!!!

Still, a profitable day :)

Think i may take a shot at the £10r Monte Carlo sat on DTD iPoker skin tomoz.  50 SEATS GTD!!! and 157 entrants tonight so with 5k stack for £10 and a £10 addon for 10k chips....pretty good value.  Also i can play Day1 from teh comfort of my pc chair, and only need venture to DTD when i make day 2.

:)

Been lazy updating the last few weeks so will try to wrap it up for you all, without being too boring.

Not really been playing much, altho did venture to the Gala in Bristol last weekend with a friend for the £10 Triple Chance.
2.5k s/s blinds starting 25/50 and 20 mins levels.

Now this tournament is soooo soft, and was lucky enough to get the worst table ever :)
However this led to me busting in a record 21mins (for all 3 chances!)

First hand i get  Kh Ks and iso raise a few limpers, the guy to my left 3bets small and the BB then shoves her 2.5k in the middle.

I obv snap, as does the guy to my left.

They show:

Guy -  Ad Qs
Women -  10d 10c

LOL!!!!!!

Flop  2d 5d 9d - Hold????????
Turn  Jh - Hold???????
River  A s - MEH!!!!

So i reload and manage to lose  A s Ks v  Ac Qs aipf 2 hands later.

Run my last 2.5k up to 7k before getting it all in with  Ah 10h on  A s 10s Jh vs 3 villians!!!
They show
Qd 9h
Ac  Qc
Qh Qs

Haha

Sadly the  Ks on the turn kills me and they all chop my chips when i dont boat up!!

Crazy,

I then decided to play some 1/1 cash and chipped up nicely from £100 to £150 before moving from the feeder table to the main table where all the money is!!! :)  I know a lot of the players on this table as they are regulars (albeit pretty poor overall) and i had position on the worst player there....:)

I managed not to go bust on  Ac  Ad 3c 7s 4s with  A s 3h when he held  Ah 4d bust was down to £50 or so.

I do bust soon after with  Kh 10h on  3h Qh 7d 10c 10d vs  3c  3d and decide ill go find my friend, who has span up £40 to £1k at roulette!!! sick

He then preceeds to run like Carl Pilgrim, turning another £40 into £1k.  Then does the same again, only to lose a £900 like a fool!!  However our Roulette run good doesnt end there, and we both manage to run £40 to £1k for a 3rd time :)

He left £2.5k up after blowing some more and i left up £400 after not being as crazy as him!!  Good trip overall, just not for the poker!

The ITM Poker Leagues came to a close this week, and somehow i managed to win the final NLH league game to win the League outright.  Add to this that i had locked up the Mixed Game league a few weeks ago i was crowned Double Champion!

Im pretty chuffed, however the reason i set these leagues up was not for my individual glory but more for others to win the prizes, so that kinda backfired.  Nice to see i can pwn some $2/$3 games whereas the bigger games the business end seems to fall apart.  This was confirmed when i made my 2nd FT of the APAT TV Tournament (ive only played it 2 times) but bust 10th when my AQ ran into AA sigh!!!!

Thanks for all players that supported the ITM Podcast games, there have been a few guest appearences (Jo Sharp/Carl Pilgrim spring to mind) as well as a few reg players (Steve "Jingle Jangle" Redfern)

As per previous post, i was planning to play the 888 Super Stack today at Star City but had to change plans as found out this week that the Tewksbury Pool League Singles Final has been arranged for Sunday Night.  If i were to FT the 888 game then id have to miss it.

Any normal pool match i wouldnt mind, but the winner of this game gets to play at the National Finals and its quite a prestigious event to win.  I won it in 2011, and almost retained it last year (sadly a fluked black in the decider bested me!) so eager to get my title back!!!

I played the Quarter and Semi Finals last Sunday i felt the best i have at a table for years.  We played County Pool vs Northants in the day and i won Man Of the Match for my 3/4 performance against one of the best teams in the country and buzzed my boobies off all day.

I won my 1/4s, 6-1 with 4 break and clears and then won my Semi Final 7-1 with out missing a ball the whole session.  Move Over Ronnie!!!

Today i am gonna venture to Walsall to play the £55, £4k gtd mtt they have on.....lets hope for a bink :)

In other news i managed to drop my iPhone in town this morning rushing back from a haircut to avoid traffic warden and smashed the screen to pieces!!!! BUGGER!!!

Would have rathered the parking ticket imo!!!

Always the Bridesmaid..............

Walsalls 4k gtd:

I dont know why i bother doing TR"s as they all read the same and this one is no different.

£56 buyin, 103 runners and £1.5k uT with all 10 FTs paid.

1. Early Stages
Ran my Starting stack up from 20k to 100k without any issues whatsoever as we approach the final 2 tables.  Seems to me that when i can see flops vs poor players i have a real strong handle on where i am and can avoid tough decisions and effortlessly get chips.

2. Mid Late Stages
Go completely card/spot dead (as per usual in this portion) and watch awful people limp fold to 11bb shoves left right and centre.....Do double to FT ave with 12 left when my KK holds vs AQ.

3.Final Table
Bust 8th losing two flips back to back.
AQ < 33 aipf
TT < AQ aipf

Funnily enough, with AQ the board pairs on the turn, and gives me a FD and a wiff both whilst with TT v AQo the board runs out 3 spades (he has A spades) then he binks the A on turn leaving me 1 out to the river!!!

I win £150 - FML

Dont get me wrong, i am taking the positives out of the situation.  Last 3 casino tournies i have had 2 x FTs, and once you add the NLH Events art WCOAP i have played 6 (including the cash), cashed 5 and made 2 final tables (plus a FT bubble and a 16/200+ and 50ish/400 +)

During all of those tournies i have had AA ZERO times, KK twice and QQ twice.  Thats a lot of hands to be dealt and very little premiums!!

I have definatly decided to play more cash now though, as i am a huge winner when 100bbs deep (as can be seen with all my deep runs) but i just dont flip too good (may ask Carl to borrow some of his flipping skillz :) ) so surely it would be better more my confidence to just stick to cash where i can have no real decisions to make.

I dont know if anyone even reads these ramblings, but if you do let me know what your thinking on the matter.

Also had pool tonight and we won teh 3 man team final!!! :) Yay...someone had to pull of a huge finsih at 4-4 for us to win!!!  Sadly i then proceeded to play like a numpty in the Tewkesbury Singles final and lose 8-6. :(

I was 3-0 down and 7-4 down and just couldnt get going at all, the break favoured my opponent and i never got intot eh groove but congratulations to him and i wish him all the best in the national finals.

2 days, and 2 near misses.........Someone order me the Bridesmaid dress :)
