Well the Mrs is in bed sleeping off her night shift (A&E nurse - Hero right?) so killing some time figured would fill out one of these bad boys. Carl suggested a good way of introducing myself to APAT as I intend on playing as many of Season 7 events as possible. Starting with Wembley!

1 - WHO ARE YOU?

Dave Burt (ChuckyDB on APAT) Also know as Kanovar on others as that"s my online gaming tag

2 - POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)

Think I will save you this pain ;) There is one somewhere in the APAT archives

3 - WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

I"m a Lincolnshire yellow belly from the small town of Boston. Started my Live poker with LPPL after getting the online bug like many before me.

4 - TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

Typical geek I guess! Did college and Uni and ended up with My Honours Degree in computing. Now work in the NHS 10 years as a IT technical, now in Senior Management as a ICT Change Manager. Basically taking one ICT system and replacing it with a better one, making sure all the benefits of it are fully exploited (while dealing with all the risk and issues).
Was big into my football, ran and managed my own footy team for the last 10 years. Gave it up this year due to being unable to justify picking myself any more (used to be perk of the job!). But its in good hands im sure! - means my weekends a more flexible now!
Tottenham Hotspur fan! - To ****nal fans - WHEN we finally finish a season above you, be sure I will be letting you know about it! lol

Married last year in October, with a baby on the way, also due in October. So watch this space!

5 - WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?

Started out online, not really sure how I got involved, but it was the Graphical PKR. Binked a few MTTs early so wanted to take it to the live games. So about 3 and a half years ago, was invited by my local (Where my football team was based and sponsored by) to play in their LPPL (Live Pub Poker League) games. I managed to always qualify for the Lincs Area finals, but never got anywhere, so the 1st year was very much a learning period. Live is a lot different to online, I don"t care what anyone says!
Played a few casino MTTs when on travels, made a few final tables but never anything of note.

Decided like many other to read a few books and study the game a bit more. Still playing PKR I managed to bink all but a few of there NLH tourney"s, these being the biggys outside of my bankroll.

Also started to find my feet with LPPL as well, winning back to back area finals for Trips to Dublin and Paris.
Both trips being successful. While crashing out in Dublin in day 1 (the wife put me to shame, bubbling the FT), managed to finish 2nd in a MTT side event for a nice cash. - big confidence boost that proved to be as I was getting a bit stressed about it! Especially with all the ribbing my wife gave me, after I taught her how to play!!

In Paris had my first live Omaha experience and won this outright! Must admit a large part of the field had no idea how to play it :) Still plenty of others to get past though who did. I am still very much a Novice at this though.

Also had a good Festival of poker for LPPL. Made 3rd in the Champion of Champs and a 5th in re-buy event. This put me in the top 10 of the POTF, fell short in the main event of 400 runners, having a chip lead a one point in day 2, ended up doubling every short stack in a 1 hour period with pair over pair - to finish 50ish. I did make my best hero call to date though, calling a flop shove for about a 3rd of my stack with A high (AK), declaring I am calling with the best hand..not just in the hope of hit an over card. I was right as he had K high and was promptly sent to the rail.

For first taste of APAT was the Luton team event. LPPL finished 5th over all. Managed to be 2nd longest lasting of your team, for about 48th place. Loved it and the friendliness at the tables was amazing.

This prompted me to play the main event as DTD, made it to the end of day 1 with a 90K stack. 40mins left of the last blind level. If I knew at that point all of day 2 got paid, I may have shut down (I know this wont win tourneys, but first cash on the board always feels good!) Woke with JJ UTG, raised to 7.5K if I recall. Folded to the BB or raised it up to 24K, or there about. I tanked and had a good think, opted to move all in. After a count they called with AK. The A spiked straight away and im left gutted. Replayed that hand a few times, and all options im my head have valid outcomes. But if it had held go into day two with a double average stack almost.

This brings me to the now, as APAT take over LPPL (Good timing in my mind).... So I find myself writing this.

6 - WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?

Depends on the tourney and table. Will often start out super tight, then adjust as I mark people and spot the fishes.

7 - WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?

Always admired Hellmuth. Not only his rotten attitude at times that I find sooo funny, but despite his haters he keeps adding to his Bracelet tally.

8 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?

Don"t think I have a specific one, but I guess I d keep going back to PKR. Sure is a big gimmiky but as a result, super super soft. One of the few sits I have consistently profited on.
you cant fault the value on Starts though - but you need an entire day free to take down any tourney. My brother has managed one, I"ve not even come close yet! Plenty of small cashes but nothing to shout about.

9 - WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?

Think I have covered these in Poker Background. So to list:
2X LPPL Lincs area final Champion (Dublin package and Paris Package)
1X Omaha Champion in Paris with LPPL (Cash prize)
1X September 2012 online min league champion LPPL (Cash prize)
1X Micro League 9 Champion (Dublin IPO package)
3rd in Champion of Champs at LPPL Festival of poker.(Free Entry to Septembers players championship)
Various online wins with PKR.

10 - WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Still getting to grips with it outside of Pub poker, so will park this one for now :)

11 - HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?

Through LPPL when I was invited to play for Team LPPL in Luton.

12 -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?

Standard is as expected, met a couple who get to showdown and you wonder why they were still in the hand...but you get that everywhere I suspect! - I love the structure, allows for plenty of time to actually Enjoy the game!

13 - HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?

Only played the two. Memorable would just be the people and friendliness. I liked the fact that after several tables moves, you re-join someone from a previous table and end up chatting about what happened and kind of cheering each other one, when you not in a hand with them! - if that makes any sense lol

14 - WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?

Right now, none. It was football, but having given that up this year poker weekends have filled the void. That said, im sure when baby comes along, that will keep me more than busy for the first year.... just the first yeah, right? :p

15 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?

LOTR - Given the size of it, its really the only book (or set of) that I have read from start to finish. Even all the poker books had sections I skipped over lol

Film - Fight Club. First time watching it left me dumbfounded. I am normally good a working things out in films...not that one!

16 - WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?

Stone sour - one of, don"t mind which
No Doubt - Tragic Kingdom. So upbeat and bouncy!
Alterbridge - The depressing one... lol

17 - FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS?

Just a big hello and good luck at the tables!
