lookin forward to getting the teams finalised ... find out how many are competing .. how many teams of 10 will Blackpool accommodate for??

The STT seems ok, but IMO these finish too quickly, where as a tourny will last as long as you can battle it out ... the APAT tourny structure should work fine in this case too???

Looking forward to it regardless of the structure, the team are looking forward to it too.

Any news on the format yet?  Personally I"m against the stt idea, as has been mentioned, some people are coming a long way for a good weekend and to just get a single table tourney out of it would be disappointing.

As a side, does anyone know if and what the normal Saturday and Sunday comps are for Blackpool should I not last overly long ?

I"d imagine that the Saturday schedule will not apply but here you go.

I have to agree on this. I dont see why it cannot just be run as normal APAT tournament, and you get points for the place you go out in either a lowest or highest points win senario.. I really hope that this is the format that is taken, and maybe if there is 20 teams, then 1 from each team can play in a 2 table STT that can run along side the final day so that it gives people something to rail.

I think other have said that you may have 2 teams from the same Forum, but if they have to name a team before the start then effectivly they are playing against each other as well, as people would be playing for their team and not just the forum.

Chezger FTW obv... ;) ;)

I think it should run as a normal APAT tournament as well.

The added GUKPT seat should reduce the chances of any individual colluding with another member of their team because it gives such a good incentive to win and if the £1000 prize were shared only between the members of the winning team (rather than the forum), this should stop any any collusion between 2 teams from the same forum.

Obv. the cup and the bragging rights will belong to the forum as a whole but the cash should stop anything underhand.

If STT"s and cash are generally available on the second day this gives people something to do if they get knocked out on the first day.

If the scoring was something like the top 5 finishers from each time, than statistically this reduces the effect of bad luck and will make anybody who goes out in the first level a bit less guilty about the effect on their teams chance of winning.

..but the point is (at least in large part) to find the "best" forum...having more than one team per forum improves that forum"s chances of winning the forums prize.

One Team per Forum...I"m happy

Other than that, I really don"t care about the format although I would hope to see  poker variations other than just Hold"Em included, otherwise...

Surely not, toherwise what would be the point of asking for people"s opinions on this thread.  ;)

..as Des mentioned earlier he was looking to lock the format down over the weekend. I assume that has happened subject to whatever powers that be.

We have listened to a good deal of feedback and the popular wish is for this event to be based around a full APAT MTT structure.  This would not be my first choice for running the event, but in asking for feedback it is our responsibility to act on it.  So a 200 player MTT it is.

With regards to the number of forums entered, it"s life that some forums are larger than others and may command an extra team, call it a larger squad if you will.  We"ll just have to see how the final entry list pans out.

With regards to points scoring, points will be allocated to the final 50 players.

We will be looking to establish a final team and captains list next week and will be issuing final details thereafter.

One thing is for sure, this is going to be a great event.

Nice one and thanks for clarifying it.

With regards to "This would not be my first choice for running the event", at least this will help as a guide for future events.  If it doesn"t work as you intended, then at least you"ll know and can plan in advance for next time.

I know one thing, it"s going to be good fun.  It"s an excellent idea to have a team based event as part of the schedule :)

Cheers for the link Paulie

Right then.  Any update on the plan for this ?

Reading other forum"s, they are busy getting teams together and I don"t want the APAT team/teams to start pre-season training later than the rest.  We have a reputation to uphold (What time will the bar open ?)

I think the right decision, and as codd said you can always change it next season if it does not work..

The top 50 points idea is good as well, will stop the fish (me) worrying to much when were on the rail bar early, getting drunk on my birthday weekend..  ::)

One Team per Forum...I"m happy

I think that that would be a shame, unless there were 20 odd forums that could put in a team..
