--Updated: June 12th--

The APAT UK Team Championship will be fully dealer dealt and played over two days at the G Casino in Blackpool, on July 19th & 20th.

The entry fee per player will be £50 and no registration fee will be charged.  All of the entry fees will be returned in prize money and there will be an added GUKPT seat for the individual tournament winner; in addition to prize money for the top three finishing forums.  The owner of the winning forum will win an additional £1,000 prize, the Forum Championship Cup and the right to call their community the premier poker playing forum in the UK.

Does this mean no idividual monies only team monies ???

Yes, team prizes only, with the exception of the GUKPT seat which is added value for the individual winner and £1,000 & the Cup to the winning forum "owner".

Hi Guys,

Mair posted this in our forum and I felt I"d like to add my opinion here.

I think this is not a great idea to remove the individual prize. I mean for example, what if one player in the team gets really deep, but the rest bust out early?? That player then has nothing left to play for and it will ruin the spirit of the game IMO, they may as well just dump their chips off ::).

I personally would be fairly gutted, if I managed to do well in the event, but got nothing for say finishing top 9....

I hope you guys will re-consider. Also, I am a bit dissapointed we found this out after we had paid our money. :-[

Sorry for the negativity, but I am sure I am not the only one who thinks this is a bad idea.

Cheers

BM

I think you have misunderstood.

All of the buy-in money wiil be returned as individual prizes dependent on your individual placing (Top 20 I would assume) which is the norm for APAT structured tourneys.

In addition, there is/are prizes for winning forums and for the 1st place individual a GUKPT seat.

OK?

If there has been a mis-understanding i apologise, but below is the information i recieved.

Quote
Yes, team prizes only, with the exception of the GUKPT seat which is added value for the individual winner and £1,000 & the Cup to the winning forum "owner". [/i]

The prize money will be as follows:

1st place MTT winner - GUKPT Seat (not sure if money too)

1st Place Forum Team
2nd Place Forum Team
3rd Place Forum Team

Additional to this the team who takes 1st in the Forum Team placement will received a further £1000 and a Cup.

Which means no individual prizes, or am I missing something???

This is a team event not an individual one and there are no individual prizes with the exception of the GUKPT package for the person who places first in the tournament.  The added value has always been stated as the GUKPT seat and the £1,000 forum owner prize so I am unsure why some of you have made assumptions to the contrary?

The top three teams will be paid all of the prize money.  Now there are several ways that teams may choose to split prize money received, see next post for some examples.
