Many thanks for those who have shown interest in becoming skipper of England B in the up and coming Home internationals..
Had many quality/worthy players who have shown keen interest, but at the end of the day i made my decision on a couple of key important qualities i thought was needed..
Experience... Really think its important to have a skipper who has had previous experience in international ties and knows their role in the team.
Team building and camaraderie.. very important role to play to ensure team mates are helped over the line once railing.
Poker abilities in both aspects of NLH/PLO goes without saying..
My pick for VC has gone to Stuart Ward, as i believe he oozes experience, his team camaraderie is second to none and aint to bad at poker..
Another major factor that swung my decision is that in his PM Stuart reminded me that indeed he Captained last years team to silver, and believed he had earned the right to try and go one better and win gold, and i have to agree that he does deserve this chance although myself and my team once picked will be doing our hardest as will Scotland, Wales and Ireland to stop him achieving this.
I remember Stuart last year was like a expectant mother around his team in the latter stages of the MTT, and shew passion and pride, as he did in Nottingham at the WCOAP a pleasure to be around.
So im sure you would like to join in with me and congratulate and show your support to Stuart in his role as VC.
I will still be taking applications for the teams and working with Stuart to make the squads for both teams, have had some awesome responses from you guys and we are going to have a hard time in fitting a few players in the limited spaces available..
My aim is to have the strongest available players to pick from both experienced players and also players who have yet to figure in the international set up, as im a firm believer that to become experienced you need a skip to firstly put your faith in them to get on the first rung of the ladder.
Just under two weeks to apply so dont leave it to late
CMON ENGLAND!!
