APAT Asks The Question #2
« on: July 15, 2013, 13:34:15 PM »

So, let"s just say you play a satellite and win a DTD Golden Chip, then you play the DTD Grand Prix and go and win the whole thing.  Along with your siginificant cash prize, you would also get a £50,000 Sponsorship Package courtesy of Dusk Till Dawn. *

The question this week is simple.  How would you spend it ?

1 - Vegas Or Bust - Head to the WSOP 2014 and play as many events as your £50k will get you.

2 - Around The World - World Series Main Event, Aussie Millions Main Event, EPT Grand Final, with some stop offs in Macau, South America for good measure.

3 - Proud To Be British (Or Irish) - Play the tours in the UK and Ireland.  In a 12 month period, you should be able to play all the main events in the UKIPT, GUKPT, GPS and the odd Irish Poker Open.

4 - Feed The Hand That Feeds - £50k should see you good for every DTD monthly deepstack for about 10 years.

5 - Des, We Need A Bigger Schedule - By our calculations, you could be playing every APAT event for, well, quite a while.  Think of all the potential shiny medals.

If your chosen option is not in the poll above, feel free to post the details.  (It has to be poker related, but the whole lot doesn"t have to go on just buyins)

* Other £50k Added Value Sponsorship Packages may be available, do post if you know of any.

For a lot of the poker community you light need to add "hookers and blow" to the list.

For me it would be some of 3 and a little of 1 and 2 thrown in.

I suspect many would do a combination of a number of the options, I know I would.

A mixture of all 5.

Would play as many tours as possible for up to the £1,000 level, and try and get as much exposure for the brand I was representing as possible. If drawing it up, would play monthly DTD deepstacks, Genting Tour events, APAT open events (I would personally play APAT Nationals on my own money, not the sponsorship), the odd GUKPT, the lower buy in UKIPTs and big $1k events at the WSOP like the Millionaire Maker.

Certainly you"d have to play the holy grail of poker.

Would certainly play at DTD more to thank them. But also most APATs.

Then in think as it"ll be once in a life time to fit in a Aussie millions

(As in theory at least, I could play UKIPT more easier than Aussie millions one day!)

I would love to do option (2), but it"s difficult to get the time off work, so I"d probably go for option (1).

Mmmm its a very nice problem to have.

I would like to play at least one event of the UK tour, like UKIPT, Irish open, DTD Monte Carlo, GPS and Gukpt. And with this opportunity i think it would be a shame to not play at least two EPT  locations for the Main and side events. I would most like too play EPT barcalona and somewhere in Eastern Europe like Prague.  Also something really big and once in a life time, like the wsop main event, and or the Aussie millions main event, but you are obviously gonna spend a bit on travel and expenses here.

So probably a mixture of option 1, 2 and 3, either way it would be an amazing year.

It would be a mix of all options, but if I had to pick one it would be Vegas.

We could ask Warren his opinion on the best approach. So far as I can make out, it mainly went on £20 rebuys at his local club.

Since you ask.

Well, to start with I assume that DTD would have some input as to how it could be spent and the % allowable for expenses.

WSOP ME for definite.
Aussie Millions ditto (haven"t been since 2000 and I"d love to be able to swing that).
APAT (natch)
DTD monthlys...I"d throw some of them in too.
UKIPT & GUKPT (quite a few)
