1 - WHO ARE YOU?

William Leishman

2 - POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)

3 - WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

Sunny Drumchapel, Glasgow

4 - TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

I am 30 and a Firefighter for Strathclyde Fire & Rescue.  I live with my wonderful partner Sharon.

5 - WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?

I played poker for the first time on Hogmany 2007, when i thought my 3 card straight was a monster lol! Since then i have had been playing at the Gala Merchant in Glasgow where im regulalry found at the final table  ;). I been playing online since February 2008 and have been putting up some consistent results in STTs & MTTs. I much prefer playing live.

6 - WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?

I have got a bit of a reputation for being a tight player.....which suits me just fine!!

7 - WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?

Daniel Negraneu - It amazes me how he can read the table and has a knack for knowing exactly what cards his opponents have.

8 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?

FultTilt - FF Leishman

9 - WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?

APAT Scottish Championship 2008 - 25th.
APAT Scottish Regional 2008 - 1st (gold medal).
APAT Irish Amatuer Championship 2008 - 22nd.
APAT English Open 2008 - 2nd (silver medal).

Regular final tables appearances and cashes in MTTs at local Gala Merchant Casino.

10 - WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

Gettin outdrawn (dont we all!!)

11 - HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?

I think i stumbled accross a report on last years Scottish Championship on YouTube when i had just started playing, which had a link to the webiste.

12 -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?

By far the best structured and organised poker i have played in and great value for money. The standard of play is high and you could easily fill double the amount of seats if the casinos had room. This is my first year of playing in APAT events and i will definetly be playing as many as possible next season.

13 - HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?

I have played in most of this years regionals at the Gala Maybury, Edinburgh. I also faired quite well in this years Scottish and Irish National Championships. The best thing about these events is the friendly banter and the great atmosphere. It also has the feel of the poker tournaments I watch on TV, which is pretty cool! Without the massive buy ins!

14 - WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?

I have played, and been a fan of, basketball (LA Lakers fan) since i was 12 and i took it very serious for a long time. I still play competitively for a wee club called Dumbarton Dodgers.
I love the outdoors and sports, so if i"m not working i"m usually cycling, kayaking, swimming, skiing or camping.

15 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?

Book - Spritiual Lessons of a Hardwood Warrior by Phil Jackson (Basketball book) and Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield (Book about the 300 Spartans)

Film - Fight Club

16 - WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?

I"ve never been one of these people that are really into music, i like a pretty wide range of stuff so throw in some Jay-Z, Meat Loaf, Louis Armstrong, Kings of Leon, Paulo Nutini

17 - FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS?

well looks like my form from the scottish championship has continued, as i won the Gala Merchant £10 freezeout last night, with my good buddy (and fellow Team FNP member) finishin second 8)

just shy of full with 47 players, i was lucky on the river on my very first hand to stay in when all the money went in the middle and my jacks ran into kings, i hit the river jack!  :o

I also pushed when down to three handed on the button with A8, to be called by pocket 7 (he had me covered)...... i hit the miracle ace on the river  :-[

It just shows that sometimes its better to be lucky than good  ;D (could have done with it at the maybury!) But as we all know you wont win a tournie without winnin some races.

lets hope my form (or should i say luck! ;D) continues for the 17th.......

c u all soon

ps The highlight of the night though was prob my mate graham tellin one of the regulars that his camp impression was just to convincing......clearly he was the only person in the room who didnt know the guy was actually gay...priceless  ;D

Alright... how did your mate get on last night?

I went out in 14th but he still had about average chips when I left. No doubt see ye at the Gala again, it"s round the corner from my work so can"t resist going in for a game lately while i"m "workin". Haha.

You forgot you"re in the pokerplayer freeroll? Just noticed your name on player list - you"re down to $800 in chips or summit but we"re on 5 minute break just now. I"m 70th out of 700 odd in chips but my table is basically 4 handed because of sit-outs.

Sack that, I just went out in the 300 odds... Dunno what I was thinking - NoseyP from on here bet 400 (blinds 100/200) and I was in cut off and called with J 10... Flop came x-A-x I bet out n he flat called then jack came ... I tried to bet him off pot and he min-raised me and I pushed all in over the top like a muppet and he flipped over AA ... dunno why I never believed he at least had one Ace. Haha. Im such a bad player.
