Just ran the equity calc on that hand - he had 29.51% when he called it off.   So 70.49% that I win a 25k pot, and with that I fancy we would have been nailed on for a cash!

board: 8d 5s 9s

Hand                               Equity       Scoops     Wins Hi     Ties Hi     Wins Lo     Ties Lo
5d 3c 7s A s     70.49%     461            461            0           630           0
10s 8c Js Jc     29.51%     125            359            0           0           0

Sorry guys - couldn"t do a great deal more.

$40.70 returned from the $5r.

$4.07 to each of the 5 backers. Shipped via Stars.

Unlucky-it was a poor call by "pickled egg". In my experience of these O8 MTTs (and Ive got over 2500 under my belt) you need these poor calls to build your stack but inevitably sooner or later you will be in a hand where you miss all your draws.  Obviously you wanted to be all in with such a strong hand, so it worked out well apart from the result.
The only thing I would have done different is lead out pot, not check raise.  I leave the check raises for NLHE. My reasoning being I prefer a cowardly lower variance line because I know that there is this perception amongst lots of weaker O8 players that once they have put in chips post flop then they are "priced in", and I run so bad!!

Thanks for the feedback.  Whilst I absolutely agree with the lower variance approach in PLO8 tourneys, and that leading out to take it down is usually the best approach, I think that in this spot, although I had a massive set of draws, I was hoping for a free card, and that was why I checked..... at this table, many hands had been checked round on the flop, and I was hoping for the same in this hand.
