Dwayne Stacey

2 - POST A PICTURE OF YOURSELF OR A LINK TO ONE (APAT OR OTHER)

http://www.pokerpages.com/players/images/photos_200x250/117868.jpg

3 - WHERE DO YOU COME FROM?

Romsey, Hampshire.

4 - TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

Born 1977, Married with one beautiful daughter.
I have been a Steel Erector since 2000 and in the last few years worked around europe and africa.
I have been sky diving and laid on a bed of nails, incredible experiences.

5 - WHAT IS YOUR POKER BACKGROUND?

I started playing poker in Aug 2004 after bad day on the GGs, I lost £1300 after winning £1200 the previous day.
I had seen Late Night Poker a few times and I was looking for a game where I could have some say in the outcome.
I began playing blindly on William Hill and Ladbrokes, on William Hill I won a £5 mtt very early on for around about £300 sewing the seed that will never stop growing.
Over the next couple of years on Ladbrokes I won their $30k guarantee ($12k) and 2nd in their $100k Guarantee ($13.5k) but no other successes of note, although I did however win Mansions $100k Guarantee ($18k)
I subscribed to Poker Player and WPT magazines and read a few poker books including the Harrington trilogy and Hansen"s Every Hand Revealed.
I played in local casinos wherever I worked and watched as many poker shows as were aired to learn as much as I could but to be honest I have not really been a student of the game, just playing with what spare money I had at the time, which is still the same now.
At one point was playing on various poker sites but from around 2008 primarily playing on just Full Tilt and Poker Stars.
I have attended two WPT Boot Camps in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic, a real must if you can afford it one time.
I have been extremely lucky and played in numerous EPT"s, WPT"s and WSOP Main Events

2007 Aussie MIllions Main Event (bust late day 1 QQ v AA)

2007 WPT Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas

2008 WSOP Main Event 97th $51.5k

2008 EPT Budapest 27th $12k

2008 EPT Grand Final, Monte Carlo

2009 WSOP Main Event 113th $40k

2010 EPT Austria 88th (8 from money, JJ v AK)

2010 WSOP Main Event (Bust day 3)

2011 EPT Copenhagen (Bust day 2 AA v JJ)

2011 San Remo

2011 WSOP Main Event (Bust late day 2 flopped straight v flopped flush)

I have made 5 sunday majors final tables and won a UKICOOP.

6 - WHAT IS YOUR PLAYING STYLE?

Its a mixture of Sublime and Sub-Awful.

It depends on the structure and the table that I am at but my basic style is tight/aggressive, better add fishy and calling station after my chopped 2nd at the APAT Masters at Wembley.

7 - WHO IS YOUR FAVOURITE POKER PLAYER AND WHY?

I have had the pleasure of playing against and meeting some of the best poker players in the world so this is a very hard question.

I will have to come back to this one.

8 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE ONLINE POKER SITE AND WHAT IS YOUR POKER ID THERE?

Poker Stars - DWAAYNE

Full Tilt - DwayneStacey

9 - WHAT ARE YOUR POKER ACHIEVEMENTS?

Back to back WSOP Main Event Cashes
2008 97th $51,466
2009 113th $40,288
A 2008 EPT Budapest Cash.
5 sunday major final tables and winning a UKICOOP, beating Jack Ellwood for the title and $20.5k.

10 - WHAT DO YOU DISLIKE ABOUT LIVE POKER CURRENTLY, THAT YOU WOULD CHANGE?

I love live poker, the only thing that I would change also includes online poker, the payout structure needs to be flatter, deals are cut all the time so why not just flatten the structure and save the hassle.

11 - HOW DID YOU HEAR ABOUT APAT?

I was introduced to APAT by a friend of mine, Dave Howard who is a multiple APAT Champion, winning an Omaha and a Heads up title.

12 -WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT APAT TOURNAMENTS, STANDARD OF PLAY AND STRUCTURE?

I have not as yet played any but am hoping to be playing the Masters at Wembley.
I have now played Wembley (chopped hu and before finishing 2nd), Cardiff (ME unplaced, Cash Tour Champion) and Nottingham (ME 13th and Cash tour 5th).
The structure is excellent for a 2 day tournament and the standard of play is at a higher level than most of the EPTs and WSOPs I have played, there are still some softer spots but you have to be very lucky to have one on the table.

13 - HAVE YOU PLAYED AT AN APAT LIVE EVENT AND IF SO, WHAT WAS MOST MEMORABLE ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE?

Chopping Wembley was pretty awesome, the location alone was memorable but to also pick up a medal to go with some sweet cash really made it a fantastic experience.
I have now played 3 live APATs and have left all 3 with a very sore face from the laughter.

14 - WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN INTERESTS OUTSIDE OF POKER?

I have always been into Football and Cricket with the odd game of Golf thrown in.

I have managed to get into the ballot for the 2014 London Marathon, I will also be applying for a charity place so it looks like I have a lot of running ahead of me.

15 - WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE BOOK OR FILM?

I have never been a reader and the the only books I have read since school have been about poker and Harry Potter, JK Rowling is a genius and the books are incredible.

Actually I have also read the Atlantis Blueprint and that has some very interesting facts.

I have an extensive dvd collection and I can not pick out a favourite.

16 - WHAT THREE MUSIC ALBUMS WOULD YOU TAKE TO A DESERT ISLAND WITH YOU?

Elton John - Greatest Hits

Creed - Human Clay

Bob Marley - The Early Years

17 - FINALLY, WHAT MESSAGE WOULD YOU LIKE TO LEAVE FOR YOUR FELLOW APAT MEMBERS

The meaning of life is ...........................Happiness, simples really.
