Previous trip report here Chris.. http://www.apat.com/forum/index.php?topic=10018.0 was 56 APATers "playing" last time. Total was 90+ if I remember. Although I don"t remember a great deal about the whole trip to be fair x

As one if the people "on a jolly"

The event wasn"t played as it wasn"t an APAT event!!

The buy-in was raised and it was made a 1 day event at the last second.

It was basically just the regular ceasers game. Not what I wanted to play.

My take on this tourn.
A bit shocked when I went into Ceasers on Thursday and nobody had a clue what I was talking about, the floor manager made a few calls and said i"d better give the gen manager a call the next day. Went in Friday and found a sheet had been produced for a apat tourn with a buy in of $235 (ouch) Decided to give it a go anyway. Disappointed to see so few apaters at the tourn but fully understand why with the price hike.  Table I was on was very sedate compared to the others with plenty of good humoured banter going on. again I did not move from my spot till the final table so cant comment on the other tables but one seemed to have a number of early bust outs and a couple of large stacks. Rode my luck a couple of times to make final table. A deal was done on the final table to pay the top 10. Went out 2nd hand on final table in 9th place after 8 hrs play. Well done to Stephen on his 5th place and Thanks to Adam for his support through the day.

Why was there not a seperate APAT Tournament?

Seems a bit daft.

L&Gs, our communications with Caesars" for this event was far from ideal.  In the week leading up to the event it was discovered they were unable to hold the advertised $150+$15 (I"m not sure where some of you guys saw it was advertised as $75 as all I know it was meant to be $150) and therefore it ended up being their usual $200+$35 - and over 1 Day rather than the expected 2-Day event.

A huge personal thanks from me to Adam - thanks for everything mate and I sure owe you a beer when I meet up with you next.

There is not much more I can say on this - apart from for those who travelled you have my apologies for us not giving you what you expected/wanted - and my word that I will endeavour to ensure it won"t happen again (well, the expected bit anyway!).

(I"m already looking at our (LPPL) traditional trip to Las Vegas during the WSOP - everything yet tbc but expect it to be around 5th June 2014 for 7 nights - and this will be built around poker, "experiences" and "social occasions" - maybe a note for some of your diaries - especially those with a more "social" desire!)

It"s not often (extremely rare) that something goes wrong like this - so again, for those who travelled - please accept my apologies with my promise to ensure we do better for you in the future.

Nothing against Adam, who appears to have been dropped in it here

but surely it sends completely the wrong impression of the importance of the event, and APAT as a brand, not to have an APAT manager there to host the event, sort out any problems etc

Just reflects very badly I think

I speak as someone who hosted the previous APAT event in Vegas, (it was extremely awkward for me to go for 4 days for various reasons, but I went as it was important to give the event full APAT welly) developed the relationship with the people in Vegas that Richard Baker introduced us too

I"ll shut up now
