Just been contacted by the Best (lol) Western Hotel to say there was a glitch on their system and that my booking is cancelled due to double booking and no availability, anyone else in the same boat or is it just me they have mugged off.

Me too, Don. The nice lady I spoke to offered me a room in the Holiday Inn on the M6 instead. Seemed quite surprised that I didn"t think that was very convenient for the casino...

Anyway, got a single at the North Stafford (opposite the train station), for Sat/Sun nights - "winter sale" price £29 a night including brekkie :o

So I guess they"ve saved me £100  8)

Bit dubious on the double-booking excuse - I reckon they"ve got a big wedding on Saturday night and they needed rooms for extra guests for that

No I don"t believe the double booking story either Jenny but you can"t disprove it so they have you where they want you. Hopefully see you at the Mint at some stage this weekend.

Can you complain and get compensation though. I know this is part of T&C"s of the booking but must be worth a try?

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.
