Very strong team, shame it wont be good enough to take on the might of the LBPN!  :)

It was with terrible sadness that we learned of Vaino"s passing two days ago.

Vaino was to captain the APAT Champions team in the upcoming UK Team Championship, a team that he named seven days before his death.

I"m confident his team remain hungry to compete and do their best on Vaino"s behalf.  Can I ask for a volunteer Vice Captain from the existing team to pick one additional member and to manage the team for the event.

This is very sad news indeed.  :-[

Unfortunately due to my work and training schedule, I"m not in much of a position to organise anything at the moment so will have to ask one of the other team members to take on Captain"s duty..

I don"t mind doing the organisation, however I have booked my train back to London for 8pm on the Sunday, the tickets are specific for that time and non transferable or refundable, I don"t feel that the captain disappearing at a time when we might be reaching the climax of the competition would look good either for myself or Apat and therefore I would like to pass the baton to someone else. If no one else steps up I will do what I can with the organisation part, but hopefully someone will step up to the plate.

I"ve no issues with the organisational side of things (I will be in Stoke Friday afternoon/evening and leaving Monday afternoon), my captaincy experience is limited and IMHO there are far better and more experienced candidates in the team, however I"m happy to go with the flow.

25/1 shot for making ft but extra night at hotel out of winnings in the unlikely event  ;D

At least we have two possibles and four still to comment from the team, so I guess we will see what the others say. I think the shirts orders have to be in tomorrow, so If all team members can pm me their size player name to be printed and if you want 1 or 2 shirts then I can collate the replies for Tom.

I have only seen this now with regards the team. Is a vice captain neccessary? It is only an MTT so surely a team huddle before the event would suffice and in Vaino"s honour we can pull together. There are some lads that have a wealth of experience they can share.
With regards to a new team member I wouldnt be comfortable in choosing a replacement and I think as its an APAT team Des/Tom should choose as they know all the applicants.
