Shoving Range here
« on: December 05, 2013, 11:35:38 AM »
PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, 2.5 Tournament, 125/250 Blinds 25 Ante (9 handed) - PokerStars Converter Tool from http://www.flopturnriver.com/

BB (t2,910)
Hero (UTG) (t1,805)
UTG+1 (t5,100)
MP1 (t5,165)
MP2 (t2,220)
MP3 (t2,545)
CO (t3,486)
Button (t5,935)
SB (t2,910)

Hero"s M: 3.01

Preflop: Hero is UTG with XX

Table is a normal $2.50 Table. A shove here could easily end up getting called by QT type hands in some spots.

What would your range be and why?

Still trying to think of something amusing to write in this bit.

Anything connected; anything suited; any pair; any ace; any broadway hand.

With 7xBB, I really don"t like to let the blinds come through me, and with the general stack sizes, you have reasonably fold equity against most.

This really. Don"t fancy picking a spot with a 5x stack where I am more likely to get called so I am looking for an excuse to not shove. Don"t think I would shove just "anything suited" though. Our fold equity is not that great

i"m tighter than that I think - not a massive amount of FE difference between 5 and 7bb so I won"t be shoving any old crap from UTG.

Obv any Pair, prob any Ax, K9+, QT+ plus some suited connector hands
Looking forward to making my first day 2

22+,A7s+,A5s-A2s,K9s+,Q9s+,J9s+,T9s,ATo+,KJo+

dependant of course on villain"s calling ranges, but going by your hunch of QT type hands calling with 8 to act behind...

all on how many players behind you think will call wider/looser than normal....

When my "M" falls to just 3 and my fold equity is less I"m either tightening up my range or looking for a later spot to jam. I reckon in that spot  I"d shove 66+, A8s+, ATo+, KTs+, KQo+. I don"t know if its optimal without looking up my charts and they re on my usb stick somewhere.
