Am I right in assuming that the Omaha Hilo is Fixed limit?

Christ, I hope not....why spoil a perfectly good O8 game with Limit?

Cash LO8 sure...tournaments...PLO8 all the way.

It"s just that the Omaha tournament has "PL" at the beginning stating it is pot limit, but the Omaha8 doesn"t have PL at the beginning implying that it is not Pot Limit- hence the conclusion that it is Fixed Limit. Actually I don"t think that Fixed Limit ruins the game. Fixed Limit & Pot Limit are both good games in their own right. Fixed Limit gets more action so requires a different skillset.

This could do with clarifying. It is listed as limit as it stands, but as Paulie and many others would like (inc me ;)) to see this run as Pot Limit. Limit O8 tourneys are common in the States, but never seen one here in the UK.

IMO (and this is really my own opinion but hopefully some of you agree) Limit Omaha 8 should be left to the cash games only and PLO8 should be left to tournaments only.

Hi all,
Hotel and flights are already booked.
I just want to know how the purchase of the events will work. Will it be like in 2012 that i can buy in via the poker room client or just add my name in a list at the forum like wcoap this year?

Can"t wait until april....

Players will be able to reserve or purchase seats from 9pm on Monday January 13th via www.apat.com.  Qualifying satellites will also be available.

Please don"t consider running this as Limit. I play so much PLO8 online and am figuring out how to make sure I can get to London to play a live PLO8 tournament. Omaha Hi/Lo is made for Pot Limit when it comes to tournaments - Limit 08 is just the most boring event you can possibly imagine, unless playing higher stakes cash.

Having won the WCOAP PLO H/L (online) last year, I would like to express an opinion on the Limit/PLO H/L controversy.

Well, I dunno really. I don"t have an opinion on it as such - I"ll leave that to the Omaha experts. I just didn"t want to be left out.

The Friday has:

1200 - 6max
1800 - Shootout
2000 - Razz

Would it be possible to have the Shootout at 12? 90% of the field will be gone by 6pm so you can increase your participation in the others, whilst minimising the issues with players buying seats and then pulling out as they"re still in the 6max (depending on whatever rules imposed re: pre-regging).

I also agree with Dave re the shootout.

I also agree with Dave re the shootout.

Whilst it"s nice to quote people that agree with me, it would seem a sensible suggestion.

What rules will be in place for pre-regging? For that particular day I"d probably buy-in for both the 6max and Razz - can I do so, when do I need to confirm my Razz seat if I"m still in the 6max etc etc?

Looking forward to this. I believe those who played the vegas apat have been granted a £55 seat - which event is this for and what"s the registration process?

Thanks.

It"s a good suggestion but I would have a concern in starting the Six Max late in the day.  We expect that to have a huge field.  That said, we can see if we can get the Six off at 3pm or 4pm and we might have a win win.
