For anyone travelling from north of the border (thin brag), it"s definitely worth looking at flying from Glasgow or Edinburgh into London City Airport.  Only 20 minutes on the train to Stratford from there and BA are quite generous with their hand luggage allowance (1 cabin bag + 1 laptop size bag/handbag per person).

I think people should be realistic. Ofcourse it could be dangerous out in the middle of night and if there is a half percent of getting mugged that means at least 2 from the main event will be unlucky and that"s not counting the other events.  However with odds like that most poker players would go all in and risk it every time. Come on lads less scare mongering and come along for the fun and enjoyment that the event is intended for

Has anyone found any decent accommodation deals? Where are people staying?

I am looking for three nights Fri-Mon.

Am pretty close to giving up on this to be honest. Can"t seem to find a way where my expenses looks remotely reasonable. Trains, hotels food etc. With all the poker going on around the country (DTD GP just announced for same weekend), its becoming more and more difficult to justify these trips - especially when its London. The events look great and it will be good to see all the people again but bleugh on >£300 before buyins.

Head v Heart war ongoing.  :(

Depends on your accommodation. budget.  Want to give me a clue? I may have some free time this afternoon.

Travelodge Stratford £145 for Fri night- Mon morning

TBH...given it"s immediate location (well, easy walkability) to the venue...that one is going to be tough to beat.

Thanks Asa.

Basically my budget was anything that was a hotel (i.e. not a hostel), as cheap as possible.

That Travelodge deal is the best I have seen. Obviously have the option to share as well.

Will have a chat with the missus tonight and have a think.
