I notice in the travel thread that a link says that there are car parks A, B & C.
Does anyone happen to know which one is best for us to use for the casino? Thanks

Yes, reserving guarantees you a seat.

It costs £2 per side event, and £5 for the main event. This is in addition to the cost of playing, and there"s no refund if you don"t turn up.

Though, it guarantees your place, and gives you the option to decide right up until the start of each event whether or not to play.

Thank you for this Matt.

I look forward to seeing you all there for what should be a great weekend.

GL.

Hi Ryan, and others , please note as per Tom's post above if you have an Eventbrite seat you must register in the casino 30 minutes before the game starts or your seat will be released and made available to others.

I"ll PM you this info too.

just a few pointers for people as it is my local casino

1. cash games - the cash games are a plenty and in the main as long as you avoid the regs soft as they come, lots of ppl turn up, esp late at night, with their 80 quid, lose it and off they go. tends to be in the main 1-1 and the odd 1-2 nlh but on friday night easily have 12 tables going
2. car parking - as per my post above, pls pls pls avoid car park a and c esp if night tournies, car park b, there is a charge unless you are a silver member
3. food and drink in the casino - there is a charge for everything but water, cup tea plus biccies 50p, wont break the bank, what will is the booze! it is not cheap. food is okay but nothing special but just outside the casino are loads an loads of food places, from thai street food to GBK (with the best peanut butter milkshakes ever) to TGFI to good old fish and chips. you will never go hungry in stratford
4. trouble - well i have been playing there from the start and never expereinced any trouble, i am sure if you walk down the road, waving your wad about shouting "loads of wonga" you might attract some undesirables but i havent seen any. if in doubt just pair up. The train station is near enough within the complex so you dont have to walk any real distance to anywhere
5. tables and slots - lots of both, you wont get bored but again you may go skint :)
6. dealers/card room managers - in the opening days the dealing staff left a little bit to be desired but i have to say they have been knocked into shape by john and ian for sure who run a good card room in the main. you will always get punters who try to push it but they are pretty good at keeping us all in line

if you need anything else answered i am more than happy to, i know i havent posted on here much but was lucky enough to be part of the winning team at stoke this year and really looking forward to playing these events next week which offer such a good chance to do something away from the norm.

look forward to seeing you all
Dawn

Many thanks for this Dawn - John (Scanlon - Poker Room Manager) certainly has been working his team of dealers this past few months and assures me they are now all up to speed in "non standard" games which is very reassuring to hear.

I"m down in Aspers this weekend for IPO London and some cash action prior to WCOAP (working Tue - Fri) - anyone going to be there for that?

ps expect to release all event schedules tomorrow (and hopefully player briefing but 1 important point still to be finalised with Aspers on that).

Thanks Dawn!

I"ve been up in Stratford a lot this year for work. One food tip - Cafe Football which is two minutes from the casino. It sounds and looks tacky, but they have a chef who has worked in a Michelin starred restaurant. The menu is football ground stuff (pie and mash, etc.) but some of the dishes are really good. The sausage roll is pulled pork with black pudding with homemade baked beans. Lovely!

Getting excited!

Hi dawn - is that point written from a "distance to walk" perspective or a safety & security perspective? I was thinking of leaving my car there for the duration as my hotel has no parking.

And to echo the other comments, thanks for the info.

I suspect it might be from the perspective of sheer scale, and losing your car.

I"m planning to park in B, and to leave it there from Saturday lunchtime to Monday night - I believe it"s around a tenner per 24 hr period.
