just a few pointers for people as it is my local casino
1. cash games - the cash games are a plenty and in the main as long as you avoid the regs soft as they come, lots of ppl turn up, esp late at night, with their 80 quid, lose it and off they go. tends to be in the main 1-1 and the odd 1-2 nlh but on friday night easily have 12 tables going
2. car parking - as per my post above, pls pls pls avoid car park a and c esp if night tournies, car park b, there is a charge unless you are a silver member
3. food and drink in the casino - there is a charge for everything but water, cup tea plus biccies 50p, wont break the bank, what will is the booze! it is not cheap. food is okay but nothing special but just outside the casino are loads an loads of food places, from thai street food to GBK (with the best peanut butter milkshakes ever) to TGFI to good old fish and chips. you will never go hungry in stratford
4. trouble - well i have been playing there from the start and never expereinced any trouble, i am sure if you walk down the road, waving your wad about shouting "loads of wonga" you might attract some undesirables but i havent seen any. if in doubt just pair up. The train station is near enough within the complex so you dont have to walk any real distance to anywhere
5. tables and slots - lots of both, you wont get bored but again you may go skint
6. dealers/card room managers - in the opening days the dealing staff left a little bit to be desired but i have to say they have been knocked into shape by john and ian for sure who run a good card room in the main. you will always get punters who try to push it but they are pretty good at keeping us all in line
if you need anything else answered i am more than happy to, i know i havent posted on here much but was lucky enough to be part of the winning team at stoke this year and really looking forward to playing these events next week which offer such a good chance to do something away from the norm.
look forward to seeing you all
Dawn
Many thanks for this Dawn - John (Scanlon - Poker Room Manager) certainly has been working his team of dealers this past few months and assures me they are now all up to speed in "non standard" games which is very reassuring to hear.
I"m down in Aspers this weekend for IPO London and some cash action prior to WCOAP (working Tue - Fri) - anyone going to be there for that?
ps expect to release all event schedules tomorrow (and hopefully player briefing but 1 important point still to be finalised with Aspers on that).
