Am now in bristol waiting to check into my room before heading down for leg 1 of the CBMPT. A lack of availability for apat action has prompted this drastic move. I"m necking a cider as i text to get into the spirit. Lets see if i can make a dinner break.

good luck Rob

Enjoyed the tourney while it lasted.

doubled up early doors with QQ v TT on a 7 hi board.

lost a load with QT v 63s (UTG raiser) on a QT x flop that made runner runner flush.

back up again with 77 v AA on a 7 8 J flop

then went busto at the 150/300 level when I got it in with 77 on a 6 2 T 7 board having bet the flop, hitting my set on the turn and losing to a turned gutshot straight from the "runnner runner flush" guy who was holding 89o

He was the only player who could have bust me on the table and whilst I knew I was losing to 89 and TT, I thought this player would have put me to the test with a lot worse.

It was such a huge pot at such an early stage that I maybe could have got away and still been healthy, but I"m not good enough to fold a set on that board (and probably never will be :"()

Still I had a %age of Tom Feilding and he came second so a pretty good weekend in the end.

Thanks for the messages of support

I"ve finally found something that I (and the wife) run bad in......

......flights

Jul 2005 - honeymoon cancelled due to Tsunami previous December
Apr 2007 - wife"s flight back from cyprus cancelled so missed a day of work
Oct 2009 - flight to Vegas ran like clockwork ( but I was with cyntaf - so still a bad beat :D :D :D :D)
Dec 2009 - eurostar  to brussells cancelled during big freeze
Apr 2010 - wife stuck in germany with 20 school kids after Volcanic ash issues (at least I gave myself a passout to the G and took down a rebuy for £800)
May 2010 - flight to Istanbul cancelled (thanks Unite!!) though have been able to book another
July 2010 - flight to sydney (via bangkok) in doubt  due to political unrest....watching the news with interest!!

Shouldn"t grumble too much about these beats, given the suffering being experienced in Thailand (and for those affected by the Tsunami of course) but I am thinking of using my most hated poker phrase the next time I go to an airport.....

"One Time!!"

Well I have been inspired to keep this going for the next few weeks.

I am currently laid up at home (and will be for 4 weeks) after having my gall bladder removed in hospital yesterday.

This gives me plenty of time for poker.

I only have one target: clear the $400 bonus that Party Poker have given me.

To do this I will need to play 600 games at stakes of $22. I will be playing a few games at higher stakes so will not quite need 600 games.

I will post updates on here...

Wow, hope you have a speedy and more important profitable recovery, it would probably take me a year to play that many games!!

LOL nice one Waz.

I wish I had taken your advice. Just bust out of the 20K on Party in 8th for $970 when I could have easily laddered for more...

the bonus challenge is well on the way. I have now cleared 12% of the first installment. back to the grind tomorrow.

Day 2 of my convalescence has gone superbly

played 3 STTs winning one and bombing in the other 2

played 12 MTTs cashing in 4 of them and winning 2 of them (albeit 25 and 68 runner events)

This is on top of a very good score yesterday in the daily biggie, finishing 8th for $970

So far my record for 2 days is

STT profit:  -$16

MTT profit: +$ 1505 (of which $640 is a tourney ticket)

bonus cleared: 19% of the way to the first $200.

I think I"m going to struggle to clear all $400 in the next 4 weeks (when I"m off work), but should be able to do it in the 90 days that I"ve been allowed

today"s performance

played in 4 STTs, second in 2 of them and bombed the others
played in 12 MTTs, cashing in 3 of them finishing second in one of them. Played a few "Monthly million" sats that bombed in so a small loss today

Really struggled emotionally with some of the poor play at the table today. I suffered a load of bad beats early on today and descended into some pretty poor play myself. Luckily my tilty approach in the $1K bounty paid off as I dealt out a few shockers of my own to finish second in that one to rescue my day.

STT profit: +$16
MTT profit +$1488

bonus %age cleared: 26%

I may play a bit more later but am starving and its the England game soon, so who knows
