After a fantastic april, I"m having a losing may so far. I am breaking even in STTs, have not had a decent result in the few MTTs played and am slowly dribbling money away playing cash.

I really am a noob when it comes to online cash and it is an area of my game that needs to improve. My success at STTs isn"t worth shouting about because these can be beaten by formula. I feel my MTT game is improving, but dont have the time to play enough of them or to get a true idea of how capable I am.

I dip into the odd cash game and normally play full ring, as this is the closest to what I am used to, but I get bored with these to be honest. They are such a grind and I end up playing too loosely and unprofitably

So I"ve decided to give 6 max a go. This willl give me a bit more action and give me the best chance to improve my all round game. Most cash game strategy posts on forums seem to be from 6 max games so this should give me plenty of resources to learn from.

I dont at present have PT or HEM, but will probably have to have to rethink this

I"m going to start playing 25NL to get used to 6 max then start for real at 50NL

I"m not setting any challenges here, as I will just fail (like all my other challenges..LOL).

There is a good chance I will be dead money here, so for any sharks that are reading this, I am opening a new account on a new site with a new name. I"ll see you at the tables hopefully.....but you wont see me!!

Rob, I am a complete convert to PT and would love to get some discussion going on this. My online cash is showing a steady improvement over 12,000 hands and I deal with the boredom my adding more tables. (have been up to 10 but find 6 works best for me). see my blog for some details.

Read nobles post on interpreting PT stats. Its excellent (if a bit long..) and can be found in the academy section.

Top result Rob, I know how you feel going out to a bigger boat, GB2loose did it to me in the league game on Sunday. It hurts!!

Thanks Mike. I wasn"t too bothered about the exit hand as it was AIPF and the best hand won. I was more upset about the A3 v A4 hand

although helpful in actual play VPIP and a post-flop aggression number and pre-flop raise % all the other gunk as i put it is good for after session re-viewing so you can get genned up your potential fish targets..Always good to have a fish list..

JUG!!! - Brag post alert!!

My cricket club, Whalley Range CC are having a decent season this year in our 2020 league. Last night, as it was a bit gloomy we agreed to play 1818 instead. Away side always bat first to give latecomers from the away team stuck in rush hour traffic a chance to still get a game.

Our oppos scored a modest 87 for 5 on a half decent track. We knocked them off in 14 overs. I was absolutely starving having not had lunch or dinner and had come to the game straight from work. So I was well up for an early finish. I managed to get 50 (retired out - league rules) out of the first 63 in 10 overs.

the only problem with getting a 50 was that I owe the good lady flowers. When we first met, I agreed that I would get her flowers every time I scored 50. I made this safe agreement when I was playing in a much tougher league and doing well to get into double figures. In this league, it is buffet bowling so our house is looking like the Chelsea flower show >:(

Where did you used to play Rob. I was pro for Bolton CC in the Manchester association in the 90s, and prior to that at Atherton in the Bolton Leagues? I seem to remember playing at places like Cheetham Hill, Winton, Stretford, Monton. I used to be a quick bowler and middle order bat, now I am a late order bat and off spin bowler! :D

Hey Mike, we"re playing bolton on saturday (second XI that is)

I used to play in the Berkshire league (when I first met the missus), which is a reasonable standard, but I"d only class myself as an "average at best" player.

In my youth, I played in the Devon League. Top 2 divisions are very good there.

I think you are very wise being a slow bowler in the latter part of your career. Its just not worth the effort trundling in!!

You"re dead right about the bowling, it is so easy bowling this slow stuff, I think I have just added 10 yeras to my career! Only played in Devon once, I was playing Minor County cricket for Cumberland, and I think it was a Semi Final against Devon at Bovey Tracey ( Peter Roebuck was their skipper). Come to think of it I don"t think I played!! I was injured, but as Max Boyce said " I was there".
Bolton CC (Green Lane) is a great place to play cricket, they used to have some pictures of our glory years in the bar, check "em out see if they are still there. We had a terrific team, won all four trophies, Mudassar Nazar was an amateur, and we had a couple of Cheshire players and an ex professional, it was a great season.

I"ve been updating on other peoples blogs more than my own at the moment.

Will be a quiet time on the poker front for the next few days. I am off to amsterdam for a stag weekend. weeeeeeeee

I should be back for the national league game, but cannot promise to be in a decent state to give it my best attention.

I"ll have to do a tony adams and go for a run wrapped in clingfilm before it starts??? ???
