McCorkell played on in the now meaningless game and picked up another couple of places before dumping his chips for a well-earned rest. Interviewed afterwards, McCorkell said "I had already achieved my objective of winning the APAT competition, and found it hard to motivate myself to play on for no reason".
Smith and Rutter won $286,900 and $124,447, making a total of $411,347. McCorkell finished 13th, which received $441,940, the same as 15th place. Including Busquet"s $18,406 would not have changed the result.
