Playing 18 player 6 handed S&G"s on Laddies. Two games two cashes (1st & 3rd)

3rd place was funny - the same man had called an all in 4 handed with A7 and was against KK flop came with 2 A"s

Very next hand 3 handed I shove with AQ he calls with K 10 -- flops KK - can"t beat that luck LOL (one would have done him - gotta smile)

you could move the money out and there is nothing the bank can do except ask nicely to get it back, it is the responsibility of the sender to get it correct.

Don"t think that"s right. I"m pretty sure that if you don"t return it, it is theft, even if it was their mistake.

nope, it is the senders responsibility to ensure the payment is correct. banks make mistakes all the time and send money to other banks, they have a gentlemans agreement in place to recover the money if they can (so HSBC would ring Lloyds and ask them to go get the money please), if not able to get it back it is written off as a loss, payments departments have a yearly loss quota and if they pass it people get disciplined.

Those are just procedures - the money doesn"t belong to the recipient. In practice, holding on to the money until you are asked to return it and then doing so shouldn"t cause any issues (and there is the possibility that you might never be asked) but people have been prosecuted for going on a spending spree and being unable to reimburse it when the error is discovered.

yes they have and that is usually due to an internal error within the bank depositing money to them, the bank then sues them for their money back, what I am saying is that if it is an interbank transfer then usually no problem.

I"ll park it where it is - it"s still there this morning, and renew my efforts to find out where it came from today.

Well today was just as fruitless, dead ends and if I had a video phone, blank stares and "WTF you complaining about"

Well it ain"t mine and I will not hold on to it. Told the bank if no action in 7 days it"s going to charity. They said write to their fraud section with the details. FRAUD FFS

So what you gonna do if they ask for it back? Might be better to hold onto it for a bit longer.

Transfer it to a savings account and leave it there.

If it takes a while for it to be asked for then you"ll earn some interest on it.

The longer it takes the more interest you earn - you could just leave it there permanently.
