So it seems that Ferrari president Luca di Montezemolo has slammed the "hypocrisy" of those who have criticised Fernando Alonso"s victory in Sunday"s German Grand Prix.
The exact Montezemolo quote was "Enough of the hypocrisy. This has always happened." (Eddie Jordan in Belgium 1998, when Ralf Schumacher was ordered not to race Damon Hill for the lead)
Well yes it did, but that was when it wasn"t against regulations. To be honest teams will use any tactic in the "teams" intertest. It could have been less transparent, a little "staged" wobble etc etc. Having a rule banning team orders doesn"t mean they don"t happen, it simply means teams have to find duplicitous ways of employing them.
The two Ferrari"s had it sown up and the fans would not have seen any fight at the top, although I suppose the other teams would have liked them to knock each other off.
Therefore scrap the rule or enforce it vigourously.
