Well Cornwall was lovely  ::)

Set off at 0615 got a wee bit snagged in Birmingham, got held up behind the safety car on the M5 for a while (Police rolling roadblock for some obscure reason). Landed in Bude @ 11.15 not bad really.

Turned it around fairly quickly and set off at 12.20 - believe me and hour for that woman is a world record.

Poor Marie was feeling the strain in the car with her mother, Tim with his two arms in a sling and the dog. Me following with an empty car and 20 cigarettes. She signalled for a stop after a couple of hours and poor love her eyes were stinging not to mention her ears LOL. Said I"d lead from there as I wanted to avoid the top of the M5 and the roadworks on the M6. So I dropped off at Junction 6 and headed cross country.

Going slowly I lost them in my mirrors. Bullwarks, I stopped at a layby and eventually got through on the mobile. Marie had to stop again as her eyes were really stinging. So took it very easy from there on in and eventually hit home at 18.30. God love her it was the furthest she had ever driven and in a strange car.

After dropping off the others we drove home.

Marie: "Couldn"t get used to the Automatic gears or the brakes, cos Tim couldn"t wear a seat belt with his injuries he was in the back. Every time I braked he hit the back of my seat and would cry out in pain and Ted (the dog) would slide off the back seat and half strangle himself on his lead"

priceless

Now that the Chilean miners are all above ground I personally think that their ordeal is only beginning. I am so happy that they were found and rescued but now the work begins I feel. They were trapped 17 days before they were located. This must have been one hell of a time for them, you know, the hope in the first few days then the despair then the ecstasy of discovery. Then the wait for rescue, this was probably the best time as they knew they would get out and they could busy themselves doing miner chores and suchlike.

Now they are major celebrities and I don't mean to sound condescending but hell they ain't used to that. They are getting pressies all over the joint, ipods from Steve Jobs (nice one Steve HUGE pressy), holidays and money. I understand that the money is approximately a year's salary. They are being given 6 months to decide what they want to do, work or bask in the limelight. There is already talk of a joint book and pooling all monies received from other appearances. That's fine in principle until it gets lopsided. One man earns more cos he is TV material and he gets greedy and on it goes.

The President says that the mine will not reopen, so where do they go, on a whistle stop tour of the world until the newsmen move on to the next story. They find out the president is not their best friend and he won't return their calls. The women get fed up being at home, the men get their heads turned by fast money and even faster women. Other families have to move to find work because the mine is closed. They get resentful the way forward is no longer smooth.

I hope it work out for them I really do.....

This kind of thing bugs me too, it is the same with diet plans and the like....same flawless models, with the expection being Dove soap adverts who use "real people".

And to add to the theme..........why does hair or eye and general make up adverts  ALWAYS state..."enhanced in post production"?  If the product was flipping decent in the 1st place, you"d not need post production enhancement!

All a huge con if you ask me!..which you didn"t.  ::)

I particularly like the bogus statistics they use to justify the extravagant claims they are making. My current job is related to the Market Research industry (tangentially) and I"ve learned that a sample size of less than 50 is completely useless...and in many cases the base figure should be substantially higher.

Honestly, read them sometimes....

75% agree*

*Survey of 36 women

Really? You found a whole 27 people who agree with the claim that it "helps with signs of aging" did you? I"m impressed! NOT!
