Chris Ashton is an arrogant piece of work, If there is a God he will drop the ball next time.
For all you England fans out there I am not doubting the expertise of the running lines and the eventual try. That was just disrespectful.
No its not, just exuberance and enjoyment of the game.
A class finisher of course, but I don"t think he lacks class or ethics, and there is no sign his opponents think he does either.
I am not questioning his lack of class or ethics, far from it, he interviews well and comes across as a fun guy. I am debating his, in my opinion, lack of respect for his opponents. The Itialian that pushed him after the first one wasn"t happy, Keith Wood wasn"t happy. I think in all seriousness that if you have the talent and the skill (which he undoubtably has) you do not rub your opponets nose in it, which in my opinion is what that "scoring ritual" does. It"s like running to the oppostion end of the ground to celebrate when you score in football.
I don"t think he lacks skill and has exceptional read of positional play, in fact possibly the finest I have seen since Mike Gisbon. I just think he lacks respect for his opponent. This is by no means English bashing I would say the same thing about any other rugby player of any other nation.
Maybe I am getting old in my thinking that Rugby Union should keep it"s respect, not only for referee"s but also for your opponent.
