I have now officially retired from the dark devils spawn that is dumb, stupid and annoying games on Facebook.

Gone is Farm Heroes Saga (lev 61), Fecking Pet rescue (lev 161) and especially the dark monster that is Candy Crush (lev 201). I am taking my life back  ;D ;D ;D

Except myVegas I hope....that has a definite purpose for me.

A few minutes a day with the potential of free rooms at the end.

Back from North London - still reeling from the amount of idiots on the motorway network. Please tell me how the hell you are supposed to react and brake at 80mph when your front bumper is 10 cms from the car in front......

Played some online poker tonight and was reminded spectacularly why I shouldn"t  ;D

Now depleting the beer fridge, some things are comfortingly standard and proper.............

Some legendary people are playing the GUKPT
Some others will play the GPS
More will play the ISPT
Classic players will enjoy the APAT Masters.
Brave combatants will play WSOPE/WSOP/UKIPT

But the greatest risk takers, the cream of the courageous crop will make their way to the Whitby Sports and Social Club aka the aquarium. This venue and the caliber of the denizens makes this a high velocity bullet to dodge. I will be dodging those metaphorical bullets tonight. Cover me I am going in........

I see some tech blogs have reported that the new W8 update could mean Microsoft reversing its decision to remove the start button from the system"s desktop environment. They also suggested it would give users the option of booting their PCs directly into Windows 8"s desktop mode rather than having to visit the tile-based Start menu screen first.

The first thing I did when I bought a W8 laptop was to load an app that gave me the start button and direct start up to the desktop. But then I am old school.  ;D

On Tuesday the Financial Times ran a front-page story suggesting that a U-turn over key elements of Windows 8 would mark "one of the most prominent admissions of failure for a new mass-market consumer product since Coca-Cola"s New Coke fiasco nearly 30 years ago". That's a bit harsh, I quite like W8 (except of course the no start button issue but that was a minor irritation).

Other people on here more technically minded would of course give a better feedback, but I kinda like it...

Watching that Ben Fogel thing on TV and have come to the earth shattering conclusion that it takes all sorts to make this world of ours.... Although the highlight was when the snake catcher was asked did it hurt when he was bitten by a rattlesnake.

"It were excrunchiating"

Just watched that.  Superb, and yes, the snake sequence was funny.

Fogle, "Can it still bite me ?"

"No, because you just cut it"s head off"
